I am the first one to post here. Why ? Because I think CLASSIC YES is a fantastic compilation-album that features the best YES-period to me.

Compiled by Mr. Squire and of course the real classics HEART OF THE SUNRISE, STARSHIP TROOPER and, oddly enough, WONDEROUS STORIES.

Add 2 previously unreleased live tracks to it and you have a fantastic YES-album!!!

It's the first cd with any classic material that I sunk my teeth into. After that one, I had to go out and get all the originals.

The live versions of ISAGP and Roundabout are killer on Classic Yes.

I still play my CLASSIC YES cd a lot. When I first got a CD player I bought 4 CDs...My first 4 CDs were CLASSIC YES, PINK FLOYD -WISH YOU WERE HERE, THE BEATLES -ABBEY ROAD, and FRANK ZAPPA- OVERNITE SENSATION........

I had the vinyl version of CLASSIC YES...The previously unreleased versions of ROUNDABOUT and I'VE SEEN ALL GOOD PEOPLE were NOT listed on the album cover itself...Just on a sticker stuck on the cellophane wrap that said these two songs were included on a special 7 inch bonus disc. I guess this allowed for the possibility that the bonus disc could be eliminated from the album one day. (Bleedin' record companies) I don't know if this elimination ever occured, but thankfully these two tracks are permanently part of the CLASSIC YES cd.

I agree that WONDEROUS STORIES is an odd inclusion, considering Chris compiled this album. I've often wondered if this was ever planned to be a 2 LP set? If it was, I wonder what the tracklist would have been? I made a tape of this album for my car stereo once, and I remember that I used a 90 minute tape - and added SWEET DREAMS and CLOSE TO THE EDGE.

This is my 1000th post. Hooray for me and my ability to go on and on and on and on until you pick it up again.

aaahhhh, I remember my first CD I ever bought too. T'was Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here.

Smoked a big fatty, put the head phones on and started in on Shine On You Crazy Diamond. The only time I ever hallucinated on Pot. Well I guess it wasn't hallucinations, but my mind was going all over the map with images. I guess I just wasn't ready for the sound and quality that was poring forth. It's still a favrorite to listen too.

I agree that this a great compilation and a great place to start for a YES beginner.

However, they should include the studio versions of "Roundabout" and "All Good People" as those are the standard versions.

I think they put the live versions on there just to induce collectors to buy it.
