So please bear with me folks. Why am I here? Well, one day in 1974, I bought a copy of TFTO, took it home and instantly loved every single note I heard (even The Ancient, honest!). Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since on the music of the greatest rock band in the whole world, ever. Of course, the reason I loved it so much was because it went so far beyond the boundaries of what I had thought of as rock music up until that time.
Favourite album, probably TFTO because it was the first Yes I ever heard, but
The Yes Album would be a close rival.
Favourite song - no prizes for guessing - Starship Trooper. All fantastic stuff, and still sounds as good today as it ever did.
Hope to hear from all you good people soon.

Hi Trooper Jim ! Welcome to Yesfans !
TFTO was the first Yes album I purchased. I've been in love with it since.
Except when hearing live performances of Tales, I always enjoy listening to the 4 parts in order. If I last listened to "The Remembering" some weeks ago, for example, I still have the urge to listen to "The Ancient" next. There's a flow to it that totally works for me.
Again, welcome ! Hope you'll post a lot now that you're here at Yesfans !

Okey!! So I want to congratulate you to enjoy the site.
If my words appear to be a little weird, well you can check out the flag, so you will understand.
It's about one week when a discover the Yesfans, so I wrote a message, and guess what, I was a little confused, when talking about Starship Trooper, I just remembered the album "Classic", a couple of days I remembered the "Yes Album", (I'm just have a K7 recorded), but I heard It again, and again, even in my memory. When I try to play my acoustic guitar, I'm remember "The Clap", and when I try the eletric, well, even Roundabout or Starship Trooper Its on my happy fellings.
One thing I tell in my first reply, its about the "experience" of Yes music, some kind of magical way to wise meanings, and more, a 'masterplan' for all the human race. I think about Jesus like co-author of the Yes music.

Seriously, thanks to everybody who has replied. I will be in touch very soon.
All good people, indeed!

Welcome to the site, sir! Nice to have you amongst the flock of devotees. We are all bound by the one link we hear and the commonality that we know lies therein. You will see that played out here.

Thanks for your greeting to the site, Wolfhound. Certainly seems to be a lot of great guys and gals here. I may have been a bit rash saying that I would reply to everybody, this was before I realised that personal messages are limited to 25.
A better way is probably just to join in a thread started by whoever it is I want to get a message to.
Re comments about Tales, I agree completely. This album is one of the finest ever, but also maybe one of the most misunderstood. The majestic theme running through it only makes sense when listened to from beginning to end.
Other great albums - The Yes Album (perfection)
Fragile (powerful stuff)
CTTE (yet to hear anything like it)
It's a shame that most peoples knowledge of Yes will only ever be "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", even though it is a great song.
Best wishes, keep in touch.

Jim, thanks ! I don't get very many PMs, so it was appreciated.
But you're right, it's easier just to post.

I'm beginning to wonder about the lava lamps and scantily clad women, Alan! Maybe all the crazy psychedelic stuff did go to my head a bit and influence my judgment. But I still love TFTO today.
And here it is - a lava lamp! Now I just need a (decently) scantily clad woman. I'm working on it....
