Hi Iain! Some great picture there! I am amazed what you are able to do with b/w. I particularly liked the hills (on old film?) and Prague.

The power of Photoshop when used with care is, like they say, a "virtual darkroom.."
Thanks and glad you find the images stimulating...

The images involved Photoshop?
I was under the impression that they were strictly photographs.
The images are stunning!
They are amazing!
But they are created and not photographed?
I am confused.

These are photographs... The only difference is that they have been through the "Digital Darkroom " as opposed to the "Darkroom"... No blundering around in the dark... No nasty chemicals and no mole impersonations...
The workflow is:
Provia 100F slide film > Minolta Scan Elite II Scanner > Photoshop CS on an ageing WIN based PC > Prints via a Canon i950 Colour Printer/Saved to WEB formats
Use the technology the way yuo want to, not the way its wants you to...

Aaaaaaaah, I see.
Thanks for the explanation. I understand now.
Yes, the images are truly striking. You are very, very talented. You have an amazing gift for having your photographs elicit emotion in the viewer.

Found this - same mountain from a different angle.
A poor snapshot by comparison. Just caught my eye looking like an active volcano.

Hmmm
Interesting
You seem to "bend" time some how with your process
Interesting angle.... quite inovative.
It seems I can look at them and see two or three
different "time contexts"......
almost as if you have two or more different shutter
speeds at the same time.
Quite creative....
well done
sir swan
I'm quite touched...
Thank you all...
Again...
The auld gallery is going to get dumped...
So its a new home for the collection

Your images are gorgeous. In particular, I could look at ColdWaterfall all day. It's stunning, primordial, wonderful...

I've looked at them again (7 months later) and now the ColdWaterfall and the Snow are my favorites. Before it was Prague and the Swan. Actually they're all so wonderous.
Thanks Iain.
Some new stuff is up if anyone is interested......
By the way, if you have anyone of your aquaintance who wants somewhere to show off their work; this "pbase" is very much to be recommended... I've had as many "hits" in a week as I had had in a YEAR on the auld place
As ever, thanks for you kind comments,

I was pointed in the direction of the original photos made by a comment from Symbol some time back. They are absolutely wonderful and thankfully I understand your view through your lens a bit better than your ‘spoken’ words ;)
Thank you for sharing them!
