I would have to say this is definitely my favorite version of "White Car." I love the addition of the second verse, and how they change keys with the second verse. Of course, they change keys in the middle of the album version of the song too, but it is more noticeable when you hear Trevor's voice switching keys.

It works great and is very evocative with just Trevor's singing and Geoff's piano. Maybe that's why this version didn't make it to the finished album -- one could perhaps argue that it's just a Buggles song without Steve, Chris, and Alan.

But it's the better version by far, if you ask me.

Cool. I'd like to hear that. Can we assume this is a bonus track on the Drama re-issue?

Sure is. Along with a ripping run-through version of "Tempus Fugit" (which sounds great with just Trevor doing the vocals, even though he's just singing "doo doo doo doo" on a couple of lines that hadn't been written at that point!).

And there's a neat track called "Dancing Through the Light," which is an early version of "Run Through the Light," somewhere between techno, disco, and new wave :D
