Blue jeans, chauffeured limousine,
House of Blues with rich cuisine,
Melding with the ‘In-crowd’ scene
After dark, dancing queen

Wearing black topped overalls
Terror shopper at the malls
However brisk the fore wind calls
Nerves like barrels over falls

Contradiction to deceive,
Band of brothers ill conceived
Rain of passion to receive
Months are years to be relieved.

Axis spinning peace talk crash
Feeding lies unto the mass
Turning towns to heaps of ash
Building pyramids of ass

So, I guess you're not really happy with the current state of affairs, either? Your poem speaks volumes...if only ears would hear it.

With risk of having the thread moved to the political forum, I will say I am very unhappy with the state of affairs in the world. It's not so much as there has always been war, death, lies, and inhumanity but it seems to be getting worse at a highly exponential rate.

Thank you for the kind words. I'll post more poetry as I gather the nerve.

Tommy, you can sing your poem to the tune of Rock On by David Essex.

And the woe of the aftermath.

I feel much the same way tommyhawk. I wonder why all the good things aren't being noticed as much as all the bad things are being noticed. Some days, it's all a reach.

OHHH spot on InverYES! hahah. You can sing anything to David Essex' Rock On. My mother's recipe for pecan pie, the map directions to Miami, ...great song. thanks for the memory.

Tommy this truly is a great piece of work. You should set it to music. Are you a musician?
