Hello to all fellow YES fans out there. I can't begin to tell you just how glad I am to have found this site! I can already tell that for me it will be another way to feed my addiction to the band and its music. Yes replaced ELP as my ultimate favorite band in 1970 and have never moved from that number one spot. To myself, YES music is the classical music of the rock genre with its so well woven and intricate themes and melodies. Unlike any other band, there are no background instruments, each shares a prominate part. Few, if any, other bands allow each member to shine, I mean do any of you know any other band that allows the bass as a lead instrument and not just background rhythm. Any time that I have a long day at work and come home feeling tired, all I have to do is put on YES music and that invigorates me, energizes me, as well as puts me in a damn good mood. Have no doubt that I own every YES release as well as the solo works but i must admit, I personally believe they shine their light far more intensely as a group than they do solo. I've even replaced all my old albums with cd's. But enough of my fanatic rambling for now and let me say this is my first voice to you guys and I have no doubt it won't be my last. Thanks again for a well designed site that gives me a much needed YES fix. Randy

Hi Randy, welcome to Yesfans !
Great first post.
Yeah, I don't know of another band that has each musician shine so throughout most every motion.

Thanks for the kind words my friends. I feel as tho I've found paradise for the YES fanatic. I can't begin to relate how awesome it is to be able to discuss YES with others you know are just as dedicated (if one can be as fanatical as I! LOL) I've just recently introduced my 22yo daughter and her boyfriend to YES. not that she hasn't heard quite alot over the years, it's just that now she's matured to the point of opening her mind to the music and realizing just how awesome it is. The two of them bought foour tickets to last years tour and surprised me with them as an early birthday present. I'm still in shock that my daughter actually took me to a concert, it's a reality I had never even considered but one that I cherish dearly. maybe I can get the two of them to join us here as well. Thanks again and never have any doubt that you will hear my voice again. Randy

Damn. You beat my by a year. I got into Yes in 1971, February, with the release of "The Yes Album" when I was nine.

Welcome to Yesfans. Glad they replaced ELP, who I think haven't aged well.

BTW, I agree with you on the solo albums except "Fish Out Of Water," the best Yes album that's not a Yes album.

Hey Gary, glad I found you guys. I enjoyed that bit of humor and play on words at the end of your reply. I'm a word/etemology nut and thought that was clever. one other thing, the quote says so much in so few words with such deep meaning. Thanks again bud, hope we speak again soon

Ya- I'm a bit of a punster myself. If you get bored, click on my name and you should be able to see some of my older posts. There's some gems buried in there. I also penned a clever poem to "Perpetual Change" re: the litter box. ;)
Great humor runs rampant here at Yesfans. Some of these threads really get me laughing.
