another great one, the original bonuses are good but again we could have done without the singles and tracking sessions as the originals are enough, the post tormato songs are good too and neat to see they tried to do a release with those original members with queens producer, how could they go wrong? but i guess they did.

I think this album is very good.....I like Machine Messiah, Does it really Happen and Tempus Fugit ans White Car the rest I can take or leave, but musically this album has all the trademark YES attributes....bar one....Jon.
I think Trevor Horn did okay though..didn't deserve half the sh1t he was given over it.

Drama is one of my all time favourites (Relayer pips it to the No 1 spot). Being a big Squire fan, because Chris is so far in the front of the mix all the time, be it with his bass or his vocals, it always makes me grin. The drum sound they got out of the Townhouse/SARM studios is superb, the songs themselves were a good solid bunch and Geoff Downes was a fantastic replacement for Rick W. I was always sorry to see this lineup disintegrate because it promised so much. Drama was a real tease and I'm still sad that I never got to see another your with this lineup other than the 1980 shows.
It was the first time that I realised that Yes would always be greater than the sum of their parts and how true that has proved to be over the years.

Drama rocks...
Deal with this fact folks..
Pure and simple, it contains Chris, Steve an Alan's greatest work as a rythym section EVER...
Chris makes this album his own. The playing, the voice, all of it works...
There has to be a reason why Jon is so against playing this material now, it scares him..:lmao:

Oh gawd, Drama scares me too! But I so love Tempus Fugit. I learned from one of the Tomb Raiders movies it's Latin for time flies. That catapulted me out of my chair during the movie and I lost focus. It was fun. Connected the dots this way is what I live for.
Yes, Chris is driving here.

And the album has gotten even better with the extra songs on the Rhino release. Love those C.S.A songs.

I've only got the original release, but this is probably my favorite Yes album right now. True, it does have the classic Yes characteristics except Jon, but it also has elements that I don't really hear in Yes before or after. The sound, the music, its HEAVY. This is probably the heaviest album Yes has done, or will probably ever do. The songs aren't as happy, either, lyrically especially. Not as heavy or chilling as Tool, but definately not like previous and following Yes albums either. I think thats why I like it so much, its got that edge to it and it doesn't sound like their other music.

When I purchased this as the Rhino remaster last year, it was like finding a lost friend again. This is a gem. It's as Scooty says.

I just listened to most of Drama on my way home tonight. Man, it is still one of my favorite Yes albums (and right up there with Relayer, just like Rick said).
I love "Run through the light," Tempus Fugit," "Does it really happen?," "Machine Messiah," and the end of "Into the lens."
