Yesterdays brought me back

After the departure of Rick Wakeman, and the disappointment of both Wakeman's album and the dark days of Relayer, Yesterdays brought me back to Yes. I hadn't heard the first two albums, so it didn't sound like a compilation to me. It's a solid collection of songs and I probably play it more often than any of my other Yes albums. I just got the HDCD and it sounds even better. The thing that gets me about Yes is their music doesn't sound like any other band. Its impossible to identify their influences.

I seem to recall that some of the songs on YESTERDAYS were mixed differently than the original versions. I don't know about the CD, but the vinyl I used to have sounded this way to me.

Well, at least they're playing America on this latest tour. I would love to hear more from this album (Looking Around, Dear Father, Survival, on and on) but this one will do.
