Hello i am amazed that there is a perfectly good chat room and noone is using it. I'm just gonna go in there and pull up a chair and wait to another person in a yes t-shirt comes and has a chin-wag with me.

It is used. Off and on you will see a group in there. As you said, sign in and eventually someone will come in. Folks wont go in unless someone is there. Usally when a few are in then others then join in.
