I don't know what the different movements in the song are called but when the bands start to jam there appears to be a shout of joy "YEAH!!!!" from someone sounding like Alan White. Have you ever heard it before?!

i've wondered too. i bet it was alan, it sounded like an excited "yeaaaah!" that a drummer would do during a heated jam.

I always thought it was Alan....but who knows?

That's one of my very favorite moments in the studio version of Gates!

Come to think of it, the GoD yell does sound like the same voice that yells, "3, AND...!" at the beginning of Ritual on Yes Symphonic! And we know that's Alan.
Hmmmmm.

There's a definite audible cue given by Alan just before the 'Triumph' section (after the big slow-down). I think he says "ONE" (as in, er, 'one, two'), and I listen for it when I'm playing along. In fact I think he shouts "ONE" at the beginning of the big 'altogether now' at the top of Ritual, as mentioned by TSYesfan.

...and now for something completely different:
I always felt it was Patrick Moraz that yells out!

He yells out very loud and clear......"AND THANK YOU"
...at the very end of the Roosevelt show!

If I can recall, he once at a live show shouted out " One, Two, Three, Four" and magically they all began playing on stage.
