Now that this Moment in Yes is pretty much here, what do you think they do AFTER this tour/album. Where do they go from here? Who will be in the group?

Rick Wakeman returns and they do a cd based on some
obscure religon Jon has discovered. ;)

I bet Yes will tour this Orchestra thing, then go into the studio again. But then again that might not be possible. Does anyone know how many records yes has left before their contract with the label they are on runs up?

If it IS possible, I bet they will do another album with a new keyboardist, and possibly tour right away again. Someone mentioned that they rely alot on our ticket money at the shows for their survival. I bet Igor will actually come back too. it just seems like it HAS to all happen.

i am suprised though at the time it is taking to make this new album, not much at all. It seems like I just saw them in Kansas and Chicago for the Masterworks tour!

I hope Igor comes back. I really liked what he added on stage to the group. Just listen to him from live OYE to the Works tour, HUGE DIFF. for the better in my eyes.

I would hope that Igor comes back into the fold at some point. I certainly don't see Rick coming back again. I thought Igor was pretty **** good. as Tim said he improved alot on the MW tour. He started to put his own feel into the parts without butchering them instead of just playing it Ricks way. My guess on the future sees them take this orchestra thing for as long as they can maybe a second leg here in the states then off to Europe for a month or so, then a nice break. As for next Summer (2002) another Masterworks tour! :band:

That's my 2 cents !

I believe they will attempt what Jon had hinted at a few months ago when he mentioned that they would try and do a record (sic)
kind of like in the old days with longer peices. I really don't believe Rick is interested but it's worth a phone call at least. It could possiby be their swan song and Rick deserves the invite.
If not him, then I would like Igor. I like him. He's loyal to the songs and yet still provides something "different" to them.
As long as Anderson, Squire, Howe and White are there, then so am I. I think a release like this is what most Yes fans are secretly
wanting and I also think Howe and Anderson do too. If it could be a double cd, all the better.

I think at this point they should just throw in everything including the kitchen sink and go for the one. If they aren't tired of playing together after this worldwind of recording/touring since Keys to Ascension, no doubt whatever they do will be recorded in the winter and played next summer. But I am hoping for something conceptual with long pieces, perhaps a double album with no breaks. A 90 minute song, what the hell! The fans will love and everyone wouldn't buy it anyway. However, I wouldn't begrudge them if they took a break and did some really incredible solo projects as well, although looking at Steve and Jon for that matter, they can do both.

This tour coming up is a lot bigger then I thought they would do. And if they do a 2nd USA leg, even bigger. I will be real surprised if they came back right away with a new album with in a year of the end of this upcoming tour. They have been running hard now for 4 years, they will be ready for a break I would think.

I don't know. I think it depends, mainly on Howe and waht he wants to do. If they do a second leg in the US in the late winter early spring. That gives them the rest of spring and the beggining of Summer to rest up. Plenty of time to come up with a new MW setlist. At this point there income is largely based on touring. Also look at it like this, how many more years are theses guys going to be able to play this music. Could you see a them playing when they are 65? My guess is they psuh rather hard to make some dough for retirement. But then, this is probably just me hoping on seeing some of the *OTHER* songs they've ignored for years.

I am curious about this possible second leg for the symphonic tour. If they do go through with it, when would it happen? Outdoor amphitheaters don't usually have concerts in the cold season do they? Maybe the second leg could be in smaller indoor venues. Although not too small with an orchestra involved I suppose. I would love to see another Masterworks tour right after that during the summer, but they Must be exhausted!

They would certainly be playing the smaller indoor venues. Probably aiming for 5,000-6,000 seaters in the big markets and 1,500-2,000 in the smaller ones. One interesting thing is that during the winter/spring months it is much harder to book a working orchestra. This is usually there dark time. Although they would be availble, they wouldn't be well rehearsed. Sooooo, maybe they would choose to drag one with them, or if the new album doesn't fly well, they might drop the orchestra along with the second leg and wait for next Summer. Also, first they have to make money on this tour. It could be a problem if they aren't careful.

Granted they have said there would be a second leg with the orchestra in the US, but I would have to think that is dependant on how the first tour goes. If it bombs, don't look for another one. I would think their entire future, and what they do, depends on the success of the new cd and tour.

I think the reality is that the tour will go well thanks to the hardcore fans, but the album will be lambasted and sell as well as Union and guess what? We'll all love it - sooner or later - and years from now we'll be arguing the pros and cons just like we do now with everything else - Same Old Story, Different Day!
:D ;) ;) :D    :dj:  :ohhyeah:

What to do after the Symphonic Tour?

Why not publish the Official YesTourBook? A coffeetable type book of all the tours, with venues, setlists, photographs, member comments, discography AND lyrics. If you buy every Yes album, wouldn't you buy this as well? They could do a high-quality softcover for like $40 and a DeLuxe hardcover for $75. I would think it would sell as well as the new CD plus current sales of the rest, and actually cultivate sales of older stuff as the next generation of YesFans comes along.

I think it's high time for an official history that is band-driven and band-beneficial, and that the boys derive royalties the same (or better) as an audio release. I can't imagine the production costs would be more than an album - ??

And yes, the title would have to be Perpetual Change....

That book is long overdue. I've been waiting for that since, what, the beginning of the year? Last I heard its now set for release the end of July....I think. Maybe fragilesi(sp) can give us more info on that.

Ah Ha! I've got it! You know Elton John just remade the opera Aida......Why don't Jon and the guys go for the gusto and Yesify Wagner's Ring der Neibelungen? It is in 4 parts and takes about 16 hours to perform all the way through. Why stop with an orchestra? Couldn't you just hear a Yes version of the Ride of the Valkyries? and Jon singing "hi-ah-ta-ho-ahhhh".....

right on Matt. Let's see, Jon of course would be Magical Mister Mistofolese, Chris would have to be Macaffity, Alan could be Rum Tum Tugger, Steve and Trevor together would be Mongo Jerry and Rumple Teaser, and Rick would Grissibella the Glamour Cat (although he'd have to have Jon sing Memory)! Oh , and I could do the choreography!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
