I'm sorry, but this always annoys me.
"Tales of Topographic Oceans"
"Tales from the Topographic Oceans"
"Tales written by five guys at the bottom of Topographic Oceans"
Okay, you don't hear that third one very much, but gah-DAM I get tired of those first two!
I'm not sure if the second one's better or worse because it actually gets the word correct, then botches it by adding a word, but can people actually not handle saying the correct four words, in a row? Is it really that hard?
I actually heard "Ritual" on the radio the other day. It was a Classic Rock station, but I'm sure the DJ was still fired immediately afterward, because no one in their right minds would play any of Tales on the radio; but even if he wasn't, he should've been, because after the song finished, he broke the spell by saying "...from their incredible Tales of Topographic Oceans, that was Yes..." and I don't know what else he said because I got mad and hit the power button.

FROM! The word is "From!"
Hi. I know what you mean. I sure hope the dj wasn't fired for playing "Ritual".
btw, the one song I love hearing on the Radio is "Close From The Edge".

Actually it was very cool hearing "Ritual" on the radio (and it will probably never happen again). Even "Close to the Edge" is somehow more accessible than any of the four Tales, but there it was, blew me away. When I said that no one in their right mind would play any of the Tales, I only meant that even on a Classic Rock station, it was a totally gutsy move. I was digging it, but you could actually hear the sound of thousands of listeners changing radio stations at once.
So I'm thinking I should call and recommend this guy for a medal or something, when he comes on and tells me the song was from Tales of Topographic Oceans and I just wanted to smack him instead.
I guess it was a good news, bad news kinduv thing. I'll go put on some "Going to the One" or "Close by the Edge" and feel better.

Well, however they say it, at least you know what they're talking about.
You cannot imagine what we hear on the French radios from the French DJs. English not being their mother tongue, it is even worse.
Well now, Yes is not played much but whenever you have Owner, you can be sure they will say Owner of The Lonely Heart. But it is well known that the French are not gifted language learner.

On my way back from the Tower Theatre show in Philly in October, 1997, WMMR, which was trying to be a Classic/Modern rock hybrid when I left for San Francisco in 99, played the KTA version of Revealing. I think Ed Sciacy was with WMMR at the time, which would explain it. He was a big time Yes Freak who, if I remember correctly, shuttled back and forth between WMMR and WYSP at different times over the years.
I have heard no Yes on the radio other than Roundabout, Owner or ISAGP since.

I once read about a drunken Yesfan yelling for 'Close To The River'. I always thought it was 'Smoke On The River'...
UH?................there was me thinking it was called

Of course you have to hear how Flo pronounces "Magnification" in French. It sounds very sexy!

French is SO sexy!
One of these days I would like to learn to speak the language - the language of love!
Even when Paulo types in French, it sends shivers down me back.

I dearly love when Yes songs are played on the FM.
St. Louis can be a goofy town. We have a guy on the radio who expresses himself daily.
He calls himself Frank O. Pinion.
Please shoot me.
On the other hand, we have a guy who calls himself Radio Rich on KSHE 95.
He plays Yes - even the longer numbers. Often, he gives some background on the particular recording that he's playing. So I'll take this moment to give him a sincere salute for doing this good work. Thanks, Rich !

I know quoting yourself is lame; please forgive me, but I was mistaken. One day, I guess about six months ago, I had to leave work at 10 A.M. for a doctor's appointment. I have KFOG, an all over the map San Fran rock station, on the car radio. I start the car just in time to hear And You And I in almost its entirety. I think I missed about 15 seconds of the 12 string opening. I was thinking throughout the song "I hope somebody in the band isn't dead". Hearing a 10 minute progressive Yes song on today's radio, that is where my head immediately went, eternal optimist that I am. It turned out they were doing their 10 at 10 thing, where they played, in this case, 10 songs from 1972.

When I was growing up in Lansing, Michigan, we had an FM station there (101-FM) which was the epitome of FM radio at the time. AM played the hits; FM played the stuff AM didn't.
How FM was it? They usually did not give the names of the songs, but instead told you "That was Yes from The Yes Album. And if you were paying attention, you may have noticed a little tribute to John Lennon in there. Before that, we heard a little Disraeli Gears, some Elton John, and a great track from The Doors' debut album. Coming up in the next hour, we have..."
That's right, you got the name of the album and/or the artist, and some anecdotes, but I'm sure it was intentional that you rarely actually heard the names of the songs. It was anti-AM all the way. I thought that was so cool, especially 'cause I always bought the albums anyway.
