Here's one for the 'what are they thinking' file: I was listening to the hard rock station here in Mass., playing the new Tool song all day (it's quite good), and the DJ mentioned that Tool would be touring with King Crimson!! The only connection these bands have, that I can think of, is that for their time they were (are) out there, with flashes of brilliance interspaced between the head-scratching. Whether this was just a rumor or it's actually happening, I'm not completely sure. All I know is that if it's true, I might finally get to see Tool! I never had a reason to until now.

It IS true that they are touring together. But not for the whole tour. I saw a site that showed all the dates, and I know there are only like 4 dates that they are together. King Crimson is touring on their own and just trying out new material first. What a ****ty crowd to show it to though. Tool fans are mostly Metallica-jocks. they will boo, throw-things and hiss at KC, very sad, but true.

Don't get your hopes too high for seeing TOOL. I used to be REALLY into them before I saw them live. Most definitely one of the worst shows I've ever seen. They sucked, and real bad. Sounded ike the Deftones only with a different singer....and the Deftones suck. Maynard acted like an idiot the whole time, ripping off every artistic performer in his show that he could think of.

Tool only has one good song anyways, and that's the ONE that can be considered progressive, you know the one with the odd beat in it for 5 seconds?

The rest of their music is pure jock-metal. And very negative and depressing too.

That of course, is only my opinion though. My point is basically: I LOVED TOOL until I saw them live.
