Hello Fellow YesFans!
I have just completed a very exciting and empowering webpage entitled "Spiritual Music as expressed by Yes - A Secular Spirituality. " Here (http://hcsvx.hcsi.com/mark/webdoc13yes.htm) It explores the spiritual nature of Yes music, ourselves, holograms, and Democracy. It also contains photos and video.

Thanks,
Mark Smith

VERY Nice!!!
You're thoughts mirror my own.
You're also the first person I've ever heard who's mentioned The Course in Miracles.
haha too weird, I even do a duet with my husband! lol!

Hi, Mark - I checked out your web page, and it sounds that you've made quite a spiritual journey.

According to the Vedic tradition, we attain "enlightenment" when we realize that all is one - that there IS no duality.

I'm familiar with A Course in Miracles, but not Bashar - have you actually had a consultation with the person who claims to channel him? I'm curious to hear more - I've never been privy to a channeling experience, although I know those to claim to have done so. Please tell more?

...I have not read the link(I will,I will!lol).Nor am I a man possessed by any apparent, nor deep spirituality,at least in any traditional sense.I work in a place, and have for many years now, where I am with/near the dying all the time.Any spirituality I might possess comes from two places. The first, from the fact that I am here at all, still living, after a largely wasted existence.I'm here with a family I adore.A loving wife, and wonderful. We have been graced with two amazing soon-to-be-men.In spite of my best efforts to the contrary,it appears that I have been "blessed",somehow. The second source, and take this as you will-Jon Anderson and his lyrics, both with & without Yes.When we were young,it was common to say that Jon's lyrics fit somewhere between "gibberish" & "only serve to compliment the music".Critics have taken every oppurtunity to deride Jon's lyrical sense. This, though,I have discovered. The passage of the years has brought alot of Jon's lyrics into what I can only call(and weakly,too!lol)-a better focus. There is something about at least some of these words that rings so true in a place where so little else in this world does.Call it the heart,or the soul,or whatever. The music of Yes,the words of Jon Anderson---no matter how poor a spiritual existence I have led, these things mean something to me,and Yes!(lol,yes)---in THAT way.I don't 'believe' in alot.I believe the music of this band, the words of this man,are meant from the heart and directed at the heart.I believe these things because I can feel them.I have felt them.Empiricist that I am,at heart(lmaoOOOOOoo,how this argument can wind itself into ever tightening coils within oneself!)-I cannot argue with the evidence I myself have seen or heard. So for this, amongst so many other things,so many other reasons,I thank you Jon.I thank you Yes.

It's hard to imagine that Yes music/lyrics DON'T resonate on a spiritual level with people. I credit their music - Tales especially - with awakening a spiritual sense within me. At the time Tales was released, I had rejected the traditional Christianity I was raised in (Methodist), and my personal life was in shambles. Tales gave me a lifeline, a promise that there was something beyond this ordinary life which was good, and worth having. It was an almost constant listen, particularly Ritual, and to this day I hear the lyrics of Ritual in my head in times of trial.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful responses! I just saw that the "Spiritual Music as expressed by Yes" was just put up in YesServices. Yes!
Cynphony - "You're thoughts mirror my own." If you meant "mirror" to be a play on words, that's funny, 'cause 1) I just looked at my page and I talked about a single jigsaw piece "reflecting" the whole bigger picture. And 2) I was just listening to a Bashar tape (I haven't listened to him in about a year) and he was talking about how each individual aspect of Creation (All That Is) is itself a reflection of All That Is! And how on his planet they call each other the "Eyes of God" because each being is themselves one way that All That Is has of looking at itself. Each being then is an aspect of All That Is.
To me A Course In Miracles goes hand in hand with Yes music. A perfect example is the Forgotten Song. Almost sounds like it was written specifically for Tales.
"I even do a duet with my husband!" Cool! My wife and I also are a duet.

tardistraveler - "have you actually had a consultation with the person who claims to channel him?" Yes in April of 1992. I actually recorded the public event as well. My wife & I have seen Bashar in person two times and had a private session with him once.
Darryl Anka channels Bashar. Bashar claims to be from the planet Essassani. Jon sings "High vibration go on..." Well, Bashar is a very high vibration! Before each channeling, Darryl talks about how he needs to raise his own vibration, and Bashar lowers his vibration, and they meet in the middle. The best thing to do is check him out at: http://bashar.org/ I also have a link to him at my own website at: http://hcsvx.hcsi.com/mark/index.html
Bashar has TONS of tapes. I feel we are blessed to have this authentic higher vibrational entity within our dimension!
Check out his website, and feel free to PM me if you have anymore questions. I've listened to Bashar for years.

allpurechance - (love the screen name) "Nor am I a man possessed by any apparent, nor deep spirituality" Rest assured, I am not "possesesd" either. "...where I am with/near the dying all the time." Part of my deep feelings, passion, "spirituality" comes from nearly dieing from brain surgery in 1997. I had a benign tumor in my Cerrebellum. I feel extremely blessed by the love for me everyday. I share with you a grateful feeling about my own wife as well. It's easy to say in words, but Connie saved my life!
My own personal experience lead me to feel tired of seeing myself and others not having freindly access, a friendly connection, with a spirituality that is basic to who we are! Tired of seeing people percieving their own deep feelings and passions as something that is NOT innate and natural to themselves! Tired of all of us feeling like we have to believe in something outside of ourselves! So, my page is about what Jon would say, "just believe in yourself!"
"I believe the music of this band, the words of this man,are meant from the heart and directed at the heart.I believe these things because I can feel them." Yes has been my foundation for years! And, actually, you just said what my Spiritual Music of Yes page is...FEELING your own innate and natural spirituality! Validating our own passions! FEELING empowered by our own life! It is simply what Yes music is...in my humble opinion.
BTW, I too love Jon's music! I have almost everything he has made. It is thanks to Jon, and Yes, that I strongly feel that humanity has been fooled about their own spirituality.

tardistraveler - "It's hard to imagine that Yes music/lyrics DON'T resonate on a spiritual level with people." And what's even harder to imagine is some musicians and YesFans themselves NOT resonating on a spiritual level! I've learned that even some YesFans are not on this level...or at least, do not express it (or do not want to). I'm learning how not to let any "reasonable expectations" get in the way. It's a process.
" It was an almost constant listen, particularly Ritual, and to this day I hear the lyrics of Ritual in my head in times of trial." Ahhh. The "We are of the sun. We can see" song! What a celebration!!!!!!!! What a JOY!!!!! After you get "caught within the spell," it's like you can't go back! Every song of theirs (and Jon's) sounds like a joyful celebration!

Cynphony and tardistraveler - I'm actually looking to connect with ACIMs people, so if you have anybody that you personally know, feel free to direct them to my page or to me. The concepts of my page perhaps apply more to Course students. And I think ACIMs students would like Yes music.

wholeogram, I will forward your link to another ACIM student (another YES fan of course). It is always refreshing to connect with others resonating at the same frequencies.
About half of my life ago, around 16 years old, I was to invited to partake in several gatherings with ACIM as it's foundation. The people chosen for these talks were each unique in that their beliefs differed from one another, a mix of skeptics, optomists, atheists, creationists, etc....The theme was Love and these talks on Love were recorded, from these a transcript was to be created - a book written & made available to the public (I don't know if that goal was fulfilled?). I sure remember some heated conversations!!
Words certainly have power.
I like what you have done, the more we can express, connect and unite with one another and with ourselves, the more powerful and influencial our spirituality becomes.
I am on this path, with music as my voice of expression, and the music as a means to energize and/or balance others. YES has been very successful at this.

"I like what you have done, the more we can express, connect and unite with one another and with ourselves, the more powerful and influencial our spirituality becomes."

Thanks Cynphony for fowarding my link and for acknowledging how I feel too! What I am doing is very meaningful to me, and I feel has the potential to be meaningful for others also.
Shoot, Yes have made me feel connected in their music and in their lives, it feels good to have the opportunity to be able to spread that joy to others as well! Because of them, I feel more like I DESERVE to feel connected, DESERVE to radiate joy, DESERVE to be happy. This feeling of gratitude is similar to what Jon feels, I know it. How can it be otherwize? And to share that gratitude is what the Course is all about.
I feel blessed to be doing a meaningful thing surrounding Yes!

Musician eh? So am (was) I. The vocal cords. My second favorite instrument. First is the Hammond organ! Love that sound! I played drums in a trio, guitat/vocals, and a Hammond organ! She played bass with another keyboard on top. I LOVED playing with them! Great sound and simple and fun!

Power to you wholeogram man! And you will succeed!

Yes, a musician. A Keyboardist/Pianist composer. I love all instruments actually, I'd love to learn them all but I've only got time to really master one, so keyboards it is.
I'm a visual artist too, I'm using music and art as a means to communicate on another level with everyone on earth and beyond.

That's cool! Tell me more! How are you communicating "beyond?" Anything specific? Anything that you're doing physically? Or is it mainly non-physical, spiritual, telempathic?
