I think this is a disappointing CD.

I'm not sure about all the "sellout" talk about it, but even in "Talk" I get a vibe that's particular to Yes that this one simply lacks. I do think track 1 is an amusic number at best, but the rest is not much of a listen.

"Force yourself" to listen to (1) NEW STATE OF MIND, (2) OPEN YOUR EYES, and (4) FORTUNE SELLER about a half-dozen times.
Those three tracks are the most accessible and have some drive to them.

Once you get past the thin sound of the album's production, you'll start to get a better feel for the songs.
(I also suggest boosting the bass on your EQ when listening to this album.)

the steel string acoustic in Universal Garden is some of Steve's best, not the best song, but great playing imo.
