Thanks to my brother....I feel like with each of the members, I have truly come full circle with the group~through all the changes, solo careers, collaborations...ect..what is there not to love about this group??!!
Anywhoo..I am now a mother of 3 and still love the group!
I have to admit, finding this site was a bit impossible but Im so glad I did because I have a question...
Jon Anderson put out an album called 'Simply Christmas' in 2001 and my husband has literally fallen in love with his version of 'Holy and the Ivy' but whenever I download a sample of the music, I swear, its not the one I have heard! It is an instumental of the song and nothing like I have heard in the past!
My question is, is this the only version he does he does of this song?
Were on the verge of ordering this, but I dont want to get the wrong one.
Can someone please let me know if this album is the only one.....
Please let me know ASAP!!
Thank you~Laura :crybby:

Hi Laura, welcome to the site. As Prem mentioned the version of 'The Holly and The Ivy' that you want is indeed on '3 Ships' but I think that album is difficult to get hold of now. You may still be able to get it on eBay the album that you mentioned 'Simply Christmas' IS an all instrumental album as this review on Amazon explains. Hope that clarifies the issue for you.

Simply Christmas ~ Jon Anderson

Is this THE Jon Anderson? Doubtful...(AVOID this CD!), June 6, 2002
I bought this ... CD thinking it may include a Christmas song I know YES' Jon Anderson performed. This CD is 12 (NOT 14 as listed) weak and boring Christmas standards with NO vocals. Although it was only [a few] bucks, it is [few] bucks wasted for sure (the jewel case is worth something, right?). This CD needs to be removed from THE Jon Anderson's list of recordings immediately so as to not cause more confusion...AVOID!

Hi, Laura! And welcome to YesFans!

If you need information, you've come to the right place, as all these helpful people can attest!

I checked the discography on Jon's website. Simply Christmas isn't listed. The song you want, including vocals, IS on Three Ships, although I'm not sure if it's still in print - is anyone aware if you can purchase it?

Well...I guess that answers that....sorry to hear it...guess no one knows if there are any plans on re-releasing it, eh?

Funny whenever they play it on the radio at Christmastime, one would think he could go out and purchase it, but I guess not!

Was looking into it on the net and I had no idea he worked with Vangellis on this~which explains why this is soo good!

Wanna hear something ironic; upon checking out the VH-1 and MTV sites and when you put in Jon Anderson, that instrumental album comes up as being done by him; obviously not up on the times!!

There's three copies on Ebay at 13.99 pounds. It almost looks like they are copies of the original.
