Hey, Yes fans:

I'm new to this Thread thing and I'm hoping there's someone out there I can talk to. Don't worry I'm not going sappy on you or anything. Any Yes band members I can talk to? I've got to be the biggest and youngest Yes fan here in Western Canada. I became a huge fan when I was 14, and 11 years later I've got all the albums, and will start collecting the DVD's. But um, not sure if you care at all. But I'm excited to talk to other Yes fans or band members. I can't seem to find anyone else here in Vancouver that likes to talk Yes.

Well, give me a shout if you're out there

Welcome to Yesfans WM

You've found a great place to talk to other yes fans.
We do care
I know Canada's a big place but there are some others up there.
I know Original_Shifty is in Ottawa and I'm sure there are a few more.
Band Members are harder to talk to. Meeting them at signings is a good way or if you lucky enough to get a back stage pass that's really cool.
Have fun

Welcome to the site Waiting Machine. None of the band members come on to site, at least not to talk to. However we have great Yes stories here, and information about the band. Plus the chnace to get recording of Live Yes concerts that we call 'weeds'. It's also a chance to get to know people and make some new friends.

Welcome Waiting machine - I'm sure you will find someone who lives not too far away. Even if you don't, there are still plenty of people to meet here that are likely to become good friends.

I'm from Australia and through Yesfans I've made (and met) friends in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Holland, Brazil.... Its a small world.

Welcome from me,too. I'm another pretty young fan, but not from Canada. I'm 16 from Germany. I know Paulisound lives in Toronto, maybe you can talk to him, too.
Hope you'll like it here. People here are all so cool no matter whether from Canad or elsewhere. Hope you'll have a great time. Always feel free to ask if you need any help. And good luck meeting the band members. I really hope you get to meet them.

Hi! Welcome to Yesfans.
It's nice to see another young person here who loves the band.
There's a lot of great people here (many who are musicians) who can answer any questions you might have, so enjoy yourself.

Hi, Waiting Machine! And welcome to YesFans! Glad you found us!

You'll find lots of friendly folks here - from all over the world, and all ages!

As far as band members go, I'm not aware that they ever sign on and talk to people here, but this IS a good place to keep up with what is currently happening with the band, and find out the opportunities to see them!

Glad you're here - and I hope you come back and post often!

You'll soon find out that there are such a lot of really lovely folks here! And to tell you the truth, we come from all different places around the world, but it surely doesn't feel that way!

Have fun!

Love,

Finally, another Yes fan from Vancouver.

How's it going Waiting Machine? I'm originally from there and moved to Ottawa in Sept 2002, don't ask why, it's a long story, but we plan on moving back one day.

We've got another member on here who's from Surrey.

Hope to see you around on the site. If you want to, you can always PM me if you need anything.

Go LIONS Go! The Grey Cup is in Ottawa this year, and I hope the Lions will be too.

Yes, I may live in Surrey but I was born in Vancouver and that's where I'm typing this from! I'm not young, though (my Dad thinks I am but he's 81!), I'm 43. I've been into Yes since the late 1970s. I was very lucky to see them on the Going for the One tour! (Wow!) I've seen them a few times since then. I missed seeing Yes on the 35th ann. tour (D'OH!) :crybby:

Earlier in this thread someone mentioned a member with the name ariceffron. That person lives in the Seattle area and is a student, and that's all I know about them.

Welcome to the site, Waiting Machine! Are you by chance also a fan of Genesis? Their forum is a hoot (well, sometimes).

Hey, Waiting Machine!! There's this guy named Rick Weber on this site who occasionally buts into the chat. You gotta watch him. He's got a snide remark for everything. But he's a nice guy, and we tolerate him. so, welcome to yesfans! Did they tell you? You're not allowed to have any Michael Jackson records laying around while you're posting here. See ya 'round.

I never introduced myself properly.

Way back in 1995-ish I was on the Notes from the Edge mailing list, so if anyone of you was on that one, hopefully you remember some of my posts.

Musician, yes-head, back in the day, I never went a day without Yes. Once, Yessongs-CTTE/YinD/ST stayed on my turntable getting flipped for a month.

Can play Mood for a Day on guitar and Excerpts from Six Wives on keyboards,
but without the flare, of course.

Hi Leda!

You are doing great. Trial and error is how I figured this place out, a few years ago. It's that first post (that you just made) which is the toughest, then you find you are among friends, and it's FUN here on out!

Glad you found us, and keep posting!

well here we go,

My name is Lida.
When I was 15 I stumbled upon this album.
The cover intrigued me.
I learned to listen to it, and was touched, and new that my live had changed.

Yes has traveled with me eversince.
Their songs synchronise with my live.
I have never heard anything more uplifting.
The music keeps me on track through what ever happens.
it is so positive. So YES !!

Who am I?
I am a mother of 3
1boy 1girl 1boy.
My daughter lives with me, she is 15 and very much in love, totally anti yes.
My boys live with their father, who walks out of the door at the very first sound of yes.It makes him nervous he tells me.
My boys rock, they love to attend yes concerts with me, and I love taking them.

I am also a nurse. I work on a cancer ward, which is quite special.
Live and dead so close together.

My passion are horses.
I own a beautifull Lipizzaner mare. She is as white as snow, and sometimes I catch a glimps of the horn that makes her my unicorn. She is the mother of a young stallion, Merlin. They live in my heart.

So what more is there to tell ?
My live is like a dream.
I think the music of yes, and the power they give me have been a strong force to enable me to do the things I do. I am alive !!

Lida, welcome on the board.

You'll make a nice addition to this great site.

I'm looking forward to read more posts from you.

BrianD

Thanks for telling us that lida.

CTTE was my first album too - though I heard it live first and that converted me!

There are a few nurses on this site - Earl for example, and my wife - I'm a doctor so Yes certainly fits into our type of work. Its cool that your sons like Yes - I have one daughter who does, one who doesn't. It took about 23 years for my wife to see the light!

And Yes is a powerful life force - a wonderous one to live with

Stay around with us.

Hey Lida,

I'm a nurse also.

I work home private-duty nursing, but have worked onocology as well: That's a rough one!

Anyhow, see how easy it is to post here on Yesfans?

It's nothing at all, and I'd love to hear your wonderous stories!

It will be good to have another nurse on the boards...

Good to meet you Lida!

Yours,
Earl

This is a small world. Lida was in australia a year or two ago and we met a few times there - we're old friends. Isn't the Internet amazing? Isn't Yes music so incredible the way it draws together like souls?

OMG, Earl, I'm going to be hearing it in my head ALL day!

"It's a Yes world after all
It's a Yes world after all
It's a Yes world after all
It's a Yes, Yes world!"

Maybe we could talk Disney into changing the theme of their ride? :D

Lida, Welcome to YesFans! I'm glad you found us - you'll find many kindred souls here! I hope you join in our Yes-party often!

Instead of using the "Quick Reply", hit the "Post Reply" button.

You get a much richer choice of options, including Color, Size, Font, etc. As well as the ability to post links.

Hope this helps.
