We have some Rick Wakeman LP's and I listened to them. I didn't knew they would be sooo great!!!
Rick is absolutely my favorite yesmember AND keyboardist of all. Especially the LP's SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII and the MYTH OF KING ARTHUR really impress me.
I think they are all special!

I haven't listen to any of Ricks recent solo stuff. In fact only the stuff he did in the 70's, Journey to the centre of the earth and 6 wifes of Henry the 8th.
Can anybody recommend something more recent. I have seen a few CD's in my local shop but have been a bit reluctant to take the risk in buying without listening. (generally in too much of a hurry).

Check out Criminal Record, just a great release. It also has Chris and Alan playing on it.

Problem is .. "Criminal Record" is not available on CD. Except for a limited release in Japan now OOP and another limited release in Russia. So unless you can pick up a second hand vinyl copy its a bit hard to find. But I agree well worth the hunt!! Probably Ricks best ever album IMO.

I've seen a few copies of the CD on ebay from time to time, you just gotta be persistent. I think you're right though, it may be his best.

As a matter of fact you can get both 'Criminal' and 'Journey' CDs on ebay for less than $15 right now!

The Myths and legens of King Arthur and the knights of the round table is his best work, I think.
The six wives of Henry VIII is fantastic, too.

"6 Wives" is probably his most famous work , while
"Criminal Record" is my favorite , and "Return to the Center of the Earth" is worth the purchase ; features Jon Anderson , along with a blend of others ; Ozzy , Bonnie Tyler to name a few , and Jean Luc Picard ( Patrick Stewart ) narrating.

CRIMINAL RECORD is brilliant. Except the BREATHALYSER thing, I love it. The tracks with Chris and Alan are supreme, and the grande finale, JUSAS ISCARIOT is absolutely stunning.

Then I must hear it!
Can someone recommend me a good Rick Wakeman 'best of' ? I need one of the early period. Let's say 1972 - 1979 or something ???
