Many of you have probably already seen this, but here's an amazing take on CTTE.

Funny, but I just stumbled onto this website myself 2 days ago!
Wait until you read his review of "Relayer", Tim! A kindred soul!

Tim, thanks for posting this one!
I spent the morning reading through all the reviews - a fascinating retrospective even if you don't agree with all his points. But his review of CTTE took me to the heights! Wow!
I like Tales a LOT more than HE does, though . . . ;)

I like this review. Obvoiusly the listener here has broken down the musical elements with great patience. I have always found this music to be of the most fascinating and beauty of any the world over. Lyrically, I appreciate the insights shared here, and the reviewer makes some good arguments about CTTE's meaning of shedding the blinders conditioning of organized religion in lifes understanding of divinity. I had never interpreted the song like this, atleast not so literally, but thats ok. I do know that it means epiphany and revelation to me.
An interesting aside is an impression I have always had of the middle section, the quiet organ driven part known as "I Get Up, I Get Down". I always picture a crystal cave with water dripping down from the ceiling. It is very cold like ice in there and very clean as well. In Arthurian legend there is The Lady of The Lake - Nimue - and a crystal cave, a crystal egg, a crystal ball, a dimensional portal between times. Merlin was seduced in this enchanting cave heaven of Nimue's spirtitual prowess. There is a heavenly Tree where Arthur, Merlin, Morgan and Nimue sat its base and channeled light into it; they helped grow it as a conduit between worlds. Excalibur represents a sword of insight, and Excalibur was forged here, and Arthur extracted the insight, or sword from the crystal stone of the tree of light in Nimue's temple. I read that Nimue means "beautiful water jewel". I have felt for some reason that the Lady in White Lace was Nimue, or The Lady Of The Lake.

Here's another one, a review from all studio albums from TYA to GFTO. Plus some Yes South Park cartoon characters

Did anyone else have trouble?

I can't get it either. Maybe the server for that site is temporarily down?
muscla posted it in 2004, so the site may be long dead.
Here's a slightly more, uh, mixed review of CTTE from a personal review site. It's interesting to read a different opinion of Yes that's not exactly the standard Rolling Stone "it all sucks" deal.

Tales lovers, please don't scroll down from there.

Quote from the link: "Unless you're deeply lost in the fantasy world, Yes music is as resonant as a dead duck - but if you're as puffed up as Jon Anderson's lyrical philosophy, this might work for you" :lmao:
