Sorry to be cheap, but it's not like I have a day job so every dollar counts! Does anyone know how much the Original Syn package is going to cost?

There is a lot of information from www.yesservices.com and www.synmusic.net
The pre sale starts this Saturday and it looks like a great product! Very exclusive.
The purchase can be made through YesServices, but I'm not sure of price. What I do know is there are a lot of people waiting to buy it. I got an email from a guy in Sweden who says he's buying 100 copies numbered and signed to resell on ebay for a big profit. I'm happy to get one and keep it.

The "Original Syn" YesServices Edition is two discs and the 20-page archive booklet. Price is $25, plus shipping/handling. If you live in the U.S., shipping is $5. International shipping is, of course, more expensive. Everything will ship from the U.S.
I'm sorry about forgetting to post the price. I think I'm just a little frazzled lately! (smiles)

Unfortunately, he will not be able to do that through the pre-sale site. There are limits to the number of copies that any one fan can buy in the automated system. I think it is five or ten copies... something like that.
There is really no reason to try to be sneaky about it. The Swedish re-seller is welcome to email me for information about quantity discounts for dealers. Stephen Nardelli is prepared to handle those kinds of inquiries, and wholesale arrangements can certainly be made... but NOT for the intent of price gouging or hurting the public deceptively. The Swedish guy should just do a quantity deal legitimately.
Re-selling on eBay seems rather silly and pointless to me. There is no shortage of these discs, and everyone who wants one can certainly get one through proper channels. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the product, and people shouldn't be deceived into paying more than that, when obviously the product is "in print" and will be readily available to anyone who wants one.
Oh well. There are always entrepreneurs out there, ready to take advantage of what they perceive as an "opportunity." But of course, I'm sure The Syn will be watching for attempts to rip-off the unsuspecting public, and will deal with it in their own inimitable way. (smiles)
Have a great day!

Begging your pardon if someone has already asked this or if it's a dumb question to begin with :-)

Does that refer to the edition with the Chris Squire interview disc? I would love to own that but I just checked my bank account, looks like I've already done a... little...
okay, A LOT... of Yes shopping this month :-). Is it likely I could still get the CD with the interview disc from somewhere on the 1st of November?

The YesServices Edition of "Original Syn" will always include the Chris Interview Disc and the archival booklet, in addition to the music disc.
November 1st is just the expected release date, when the products should be available from the manufacturer, after which shipping to customers can begin.
You will be able to order this throughout the rest of the year, and as long as public demand for it continues. It is only the pre-sale that has start and stop dates associated with it. So you're not in any danger of missing out if you order in November.
Have a great day!

The thing about ordering now is that it comes signed and numbered. I guess these are limited to pre-sale, so they are real collectors items. I'm at the front of the queue for tomorrow!

Yes, the numbering/autographing is a pre-sale deal only, and the pre-sale continues until October 27th. "Regular non-autographed ordering" commences after that.
The way I *think* this is going to work is, the pre-sale copies will come with a certificate of authenticity, illustrated with the Syn artwork, autographed by Chris and Stephen, and each one numbered, showing which number it is out of how many total. I'm pretty sure that is the methodology, but of course I'll know for sure when I actually see the finished package.
What I do know is that shortly after the 27th, Stephen and Chris are meeting together here in the U.S. to do all of the signings for the pre-sale orders. So there will be a lot of autographing going on all at once, but they have a whole day set aside just for that activity. Then around the 1st of Nov. Chris is off to London for the Prince's Trust gig.
Have a great day!

I live in UK; I'm hoping to either obtain a copy in the shops, or from a very good mail order comp. I know.

You can only buy this version through YesServices or the Syn website. I got mine by telephone, check the call numbers on the Syn site, but they have on-line credit card facilities too and Pay Pal. If you buy in the pre sale period, you get it signed by Squire and Nardelli and a limited numbered copy.

I just successfully purchased 2 copies via the Yes Services internet sales site. Very neat operation, no hassles.

Very friendly operator! Now the wait....

Dear Ellis:
I live in UK; I'm hoping to either obtain a copy in the shops, or from a very good mail order comp. I know.
You will *eventually* be able to buy just the music disc "Original Syn" in local shops in the UK, but not for a while. And the shops will only carry the music disc.
The YesServices Edition, which has the three parts -- the music disc, the Chris Interview disc, and the 20-page booklet -- can only be purchased through YesServices. But of course, there are three ways you can order it: online, or by toll-free phone number, or by money order via snailmail.
If you are primarily interested in just the Syn music, and don't really care one way or the other about the Chris Interview disc or the historic booklet, then it would probably be better for you to wait for the music disc to be released by itself to local shops. I can only guess that that will happen a little later in the year.
But the important thing is that you be able to get what you prefer. We want everyone to be happy and delighted with their purchase, regardless of whether they choose the single disc version, or the YS edition.
No matter what configuration people want, they *will* be able to get it eventually.
Stephen and I talked about this thread this afternoon, and wondered if there might be questions about "Original Syn" being an American import product. The situation is this:
BOTH of the versions of "Original Syn" -- the YS edition which is available now, and the single-disc version which will be released later -- will be manufactured in America. It's a purely business decision that was made by Syn Music Ltd. because of the favorable laws in the U.S. that govern their publishing rights, ownership, royalties and so forth.
So, whether you buy the single disc in a local store later, or buy the YS package online now, they will all be manufactured in America.
I just want you to get what you desire. (smiles)
If there is anything I can do to help you, or if there are any additional questions or concerns, just ask! I know you're a HUGE fan, and you have done wonderful things to help build and maintain fan enthusiasm for the project! So if there is anything you need, please let me know!
Have a great day!

They never told me the item number but assured me that I was getting the Yes Services pre-sale CD numbered and signed.
