Hey everyone.
I am new here, and in a way I am quite new to Yes music. I started listening about 2 years ago, and I'm still fascinated (is that spelled wrong?) by Yes songd I've never heard ofbefore.
I am only 13 and I love Yes. Most of the kids my age don't even know who/what Yes is, so I saught refuge here.
As you know, I am in the Steve Howe forums.
He is my hero. My all time hero. I love his style, his instruments, and his music. I haven't had the opurtinity to hear his solo stuff, but I am just stunned at Gates Of Delirium. The end (Soon) has got to be the song I want to be played at my funural. It has to be the song that keeps me alive. That PEdal Steel Guitar or what ever is amazing. I play the guitar and I am very interested in learning some things on a Slide Guitar (I call them slide guitars)
Well, anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and I am looking forward to having some good old Yes disscussions.

Hi, fellow young Steve Howe fan! He's my hero too, and I'm 16 - so there are a few other people like us, they're just sort of scattered around all over the place. Good to have you at Yesfans.

Hey you guys, great to see new blood arriving in the world of Yes! I'm 30 (i kinow that might seem old to you but i'm quite young for a Yesfan), but i know people in their late teens/early twenties who dig Yes too.
I hope your friends are cool with it- when i was a teenager lots of people made fun of my listening choices like Yes 'cos it wasn't "cool" (and what an idiotic notion that is, and how idiotic those people were)..
Some people are lucky- they can see through the hollowness of much of the junk that's presented to people today as good music. Especially stuff aimed at the age group you guys are in. Maybe you're both lucky people that way.
But i guess you already know that, and also the most powerful thing- that the best music of Yes transcends fashion, stylistic boundaries, and even it's own timeframe and reaches out to you, your heart, your soul.
Welcome! The story surely carries on.......

New Yesfriends are always welcome.
Age is just a number, nothing more, and Yes music is timeless.
I feel in love with yesmusic at 11 years old and that was a few decades ago now.
younger fans are appreciated greatly by all of us here and by Yes themselves too -
> > > thanks for being here !

Welcome Fish, always inspiring to have young Yesfans here on site. To reassure us that Yes is not just for us 'oldies'. But I guess recognition of good music is going happen whatever age. If someone recognises good music from whatever era they are going to appreciate it right? So welcome and post often you will enjoy it here.
The Fish and Nells, enjoy this site. Remember, when all of us listen to Beethoven we are ALL much younger than when the music was first heard. "Now" is always the right time for great music.
Look around in the Instruments and Steve Howe sections. You'll find a lot of guitar info. Ask questions and give us answers, too.

Thanks guys (and gals?).
I'm definetly looking forward to talking about Yes here, mainly because (Like I said) only like 4 people KNOW who Yes is and about 2 even like them. My school janitor loves them, my dad and I, and my one friend like them a little (I sent them some songs)
Other than that, I love Yes, and I'm looking forward to next tour.

Welcome to Yesfans The_Fish!
I'm guessing with your screen name that you're also a Chris Squire fan. He rules too.
Steve is awesome, and his work on "Relayer" is also my favorite, particularly on "To Be Over." What an amazing solo. He is also my favorite Yesman, although I love 'em all
It's nice to see the next generation. We have a fair amount of younger fans, mostly 2nd generation (from Dad, usually). I got turned on to Yes by my older brother when I was nine, and I was 13 when I first heard "Relayer" (it had just been released).
Post often!

Well, I don't know what you mean my screen name. I just like the song. But yeah I love Chris, he has to be the coolest bass player. Did he write The FIsh or something?
(Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Chris is the bass playe)

Hi, Fish! Welcome to YesFans! I'm so glad you found us - you'll meet LOTS of Yes people here - both young and old - I'm on the older side of things, having discovered Yes back in 1972. I fell in love with them instantly!
My son J.J. is 13, and has been to 3 Yes shows with me - he likes Yes, although he thinks I play them a little TOO much! LOL
Regarding Chris' nickname - I'm told that he was dubbed "The Fish" back in the days when the bandmates shared a flat, and Chris took too much time in the tub! And yes, he did write "The Fish" as well, and his solo album "Fish Out of Water" capitalized on the nickname.
I'm very much a Howe fan too, not just his work with Yes, but his solo efforts, he continually amazes me with his grasp of all musical styles, and his prowess.
This is a VERY friendly site, so come back and post often!

I'm a little dense.
It took me years to realize that "Fish Out of Water" was a reference to his doing a solo album away from Yes. Well, not TOO far away, given that Bruford and Moraz were on it.
