Has anyone else noted Jon's reaction during the first big vocal break on YIND (right around two-plus minutes into the number), when Chris sings his extended high note toward the tail end of, "...on a sailing ship to nowhere, leaving any place..."?

That's so funny! My take on this is that Jon and Chris may have disagreed over Chris singing the line that way, Chris went ahead and did it nonetheless, and Jon thinks it's showboating. (WHATTT?...Chris? Showboat??)

Our favorite would-be yogi, Jon Anderson, rolling his eyes and grimacing - who would've thought? Such a candid moment would never have made it through the editing process, I suspect, had the Lugano project been a DVD release rather than a TV broadcast.

Any comments? (By the way, am I correct in thinking that's not the vocal line usually sings there?)

what is the lugano project?

The Lugano Project was a nefarious dark-ops CIA operation which took place in Lugano Switzerland during the summer of 1964.

...Actually, it was a YES concert which was recorded for limited broadcast, namely for Swiss Television.

Copies of it have surfaced on YES websites, as per nominal.

And that's the gist of The Lugano Project...

The Lugano Project is Dr Evil's next scheme, to immediately follow the culmination of the Alan Parsons Project...

Yes its true - Chris sang one little line of lyric out of sequence, when he should have had his gob shut and not sung at all, so Jon - sensitive soul as he is - pulled a face and after the show announced that he would be leaving the band at a date yet to be set.

I've just sat and stopwatched what your talking about and, apart from the fact that the song was 'RECORDED IN 1955', there wasn't that much that looked out of place to me even though I see the bit your on about. They both quite often shake hands and give each other a hug at European gigs so from this I have deduced that they are gay but don't want to go through the hassle of admiting it to family and friends and fans and record sales are bad enough already without destroying their butch image.
