Visited the official Patrick Moraz site yesterday and discovered he has a new album out!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!
It's called "Resonance" and is apparently all piano.

Checked out a couple of the mp3 samples from it, and they
were absolutely breathtaking....
So often, in listening to Moraz on a piano, I forget that he only has two hands......

......can't wait 'til my copy of Resonance arrives!!!!!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

~Riff! ......grinning from ear to ear!! (Can't wait!!) WHEEEEEEE!!!!

Anyone else heard this yet? Been out a while now I guess, but I've not yet heard it.

Worth a purchase would ya say?

Resonance is an older album (from around 2000 I think). As a big fan of Pat Moraz as well as piano music in general, I have it, of course. If you like some REALLY elaborate solo piano music, then do yourself a favor and go for it. But be sure to get the Windows of Time album, too. That one is his true piano masterpiece.

Wow - this is an OLD thread!

I haven't heard this album, although I'd like to . . .

I had the pleasure of seeing Pat do a solo piano concert once in a VERY small venue . . . he was freaking amazing! :hearts:

He truly is.

He's not my all-time favorite keyboard player (and pianist, when we're at that...) for no reason. :)

Have you guys ever heard Mike Garson?

He's the genius behind David Bowie's Aladdin Sane...

Here is a You Tube link to someone who throws together Disney's Aladdin with the music of Bowie although they are not related at all, you can still hear Garson's brilliance. Wait for the solo in the middle, it's best decribed as controlled insanity...

Oh, and if you ever happen to be interested in buying Windows of Time, be sure to get the original issue from 1995. I don't know about the new Voiceprint reissue, but the original album has the friggin best booklet/liner notes in the history of music. Jeez, it's a sin to call it a booklet.

I'm not saying anything more, you must see it for yourself...:)

One of these days I'll have unlimited funds and can shop online for music to my hearts content!

(well, I can dream, can't I . . . )

You can say that again. But as long as I can afford things I really do care about, I'm content... :)

Cool. And are they on a HUGE sheet of paper?

Sadly, no. Voiceprint version has a "basic" booklet.

As this is thread is about "New Moraz Album", i must tell that while i think that "Resonance" is very, very good, i like the latest one, "ESP" even more.

Oh, it's sad that the liner notes of "Windows of Time" are not that HUGE anymore. :homer: (Sorry, i couldn't resist Homer!) It's the same thing with Santana's "Lotus". I have the japanese mini-vinyl-replica, and while it's handsome, it's not the same as having it vinyl size.

My favorite of those three is surely Windows of Time, but it's a great trilogy overall and as diverse as three piano albums from the same artist can be.

I've been listening to "Windows of Time" again a lot recently and I must say this is indeed a work of genius. And I don't use this term lightly! :appl[1]:
