Here's another attempt to post this info (since the first thread seems to be gone haywire).

According to play.com the DVD of Songs from Tsongas will be released in the UK and Ireland on the 4th of October.

Anyone got any idea of what songs will be on it ?

I assume it's the full concert but not certain on that. Some of the songs listed are the ones shown on the PBS TV programme. See PBS thread.

When will it come out in the US?

There hasn't been a date announced for the US release yet. As I posted in another thread about this a couple weeks ago, they are going to wait until PBS has a chance to broadcast their shortened version before they bring it out over here.

Wasn't this show a 'near disaster' ?
I recall the reviews were rather disappointing.

Nah, I was there and felt they were great.

Here are the problems that I recall: Jon messed up the lyrics pretty badly in a couple places (GFTO, TOTC, Mind Drive), and it was very warm in the room. Also, Rick's keys went haywire for a moment at the beginning of AY&I.

Otherwise it was great, and I'm sure they'll fix what they can in a studio. I expect an awesome DVD if they put out the whole thing.

You're welcome!

By the way, Jon's mistakes were handled quite professionally - he just sang something else in place of the correct lyrics. Only those of us that know the actual words could really tell!

(And since I don't really know the lyrics to Mind Drive that well, I'm still not sure exactly what's a mistake and what just struck me as a possible mistake in that one.)

The descriptions on the PBS Soundstage website and for the Regal Cinemas showing both have Starship Trooper being mentioned in the description so I'm not sure why they wouldn't include it on the DVD and show it in the 1 hour edit.

I just saw in next week's TV Guide that the concert will be on PBS next Saturday night at 10. Check your listings.

Yeah according to Play and Amazon it's coming out in Europe on Oct 4th but they have no further details. I do find it annoying how Yesworld announces the US release date, but can't be bothered to mention the Euro release that's just next week!?

Remember this is YesWORLD !

i do wish that the show coming out was "Songs from the Garden". I thought the intent was to film and release the MSG show. oh well. after the "could have been much better" release of Yesspeak, I am greatly looking forward to having a dvd of this tour.

Just saw (and recorded) the PBS showing this morning at 5am! Looked really good, can't wait to hear it loud and proud thru the stereo tonight. Saw myself a few times in the audience  Saw smatt very clearly too!

GFTO, Sweet Dreams, YM AGP, Rick's solo, The Meeting, LDR, Roundabout, Owner, AYAI... I think that's everything...

I too recorded it this morning and spot checked it before work. looks fantastic. I like that it actually has a "film" quality to it vs. the tape quality of Symphonic, HOB, etc.

Just saw the "Soundstage" 35th Anniversary show. Got up at 5 AM, I was disappointed that it was only 53 minutes long! Good start to my day, however.
The production and mix were good. I hope the "for sale version" will be much longer.
Sorry, but even "Owner" in acoustic turned me off a little! It is the one yessong that I would not be upset if I never heard it again!

UK YES fans we were expecting this DVD on 04/10? HMV have the release date as 01/11?

Any confirmed sightings on either date please?

stevie

No sign of it in the shops yet and it is October 4th.
Perhaps Yesworld could confirm the release date for the UK and the rest of the world, not just the USA dates.

Wandered round every music shop in Exeter on Monday to no avail. Not much information even on what the delay was. Virgin Megastore helpfully (ha ha) said the band's latest release was already out, and called Keys to Ascension. Muppets.

From Yesworld:
"the project is still in production and has not yet been finished".

I would guess there are scheduling issues, if it's safe to assume various band members are required to fix the widely reported audio "hiccups".

US get DVD before us - well brethren over the pond had to wait for Acoustic I suppose. Hope all the 'delays' will be worth it in the final product. Pink Floyd's 'Pulse' DVD has been in the mix for two years an no release date yet!
I agree it's frustrating - "I get up - I get down".....

That makes me so mad! Why nothing was said before release date!

I know. And Yesworld even has the audacity to try to make it look like the 4 October UK release date was made up by someone else.

"Reports of the DVD being released this month is incorrect as the project is still in production and has not yet been finished. Watch YesWorld for updates as they occur."

Reports?

IT WAS ON THE OFFICIAL FOOKING WEBSITE!!!!

Nice to feel valued too.

Pink Floyd's 'Pulse' DVD has been in the mix for two years an no release date yet!

Maybe it's because there's a reunion in the works and they've hired George Lucas to oversee the production of the old Pulse footage so he can superimpose Roger Waters?

The news section on YesWorld now says -
"January 11, 2005 - The DVD of YES: 35th Anniversary Concert - Songs from Tsongas is currently scheduled to be released on April 12 in the US. There are no firm release dates for other regions at this time."

However Play.com has the U.K. release date as the 7th of February 2005. I originally ordered it back in September just before it was originally slated for release.

What can be so wrong with this DVD that it's taking them so long and so many missed "release" dates to get it fixed ? I really hope they're not doing overdubs - I'd rather hear a few bum notes than see the original performance interferred with.
