What Does everyone think about this Cd release.

Will you Buy it?

Well, I have both Keys albums anyway, so I won't be buying it. I have a couple of gripes about this release:

a) Keys to the Studio - what a god-awful title. The Powers-that-be could at least have given it a more evocative name to do justice to the great songs on there.

b) I don't know what the track order will be, but I have a horrible suspicion they will just slap the tracks on in the order they appeared on the originals (ie Be the One first and Sign Language last). I hope I'm wrong. But several fans (at Notes from the Edge) have suggested much better track ordering for a single Keys album - I hope they go with one of those.

However, to anyone who has NOT bought the Keys albums, and has missed out on those amazing, classic Yes studio tracks, you MUST buy this (or the original Keys albums). I reckon (and Rick W. agrees with me!) that it's up there with some of the very best stuff Yes has done.:bncsmls

You would think since I already have the 2 Keys, That I wouldn't buy it either, But, I know already that once it hits the stores, I will pick it up and buy it.

Its like I can't help myself when it comes to YES.
I do wish there were something new on it, so I would at least listen to it more then once, but being fanatic I will spend the money, and it will just sit in my collection.

I too, have both KTA's plus the DVD, so I'll wait on the reviews to persuade me to chuck out the dough for the additional stuff, just for curiosity's sake.

I've seen a lot of flack about the effects on the DVD, but take it from this graybeard: Watching it on my 50" JVC and listening to it through the surround sound system is an enjoyable experience, absolutely! There's not a lot of jumping around, more like a straightforward performance. I say every Yesfan should have it.

I read awhile back on Yesworld that Keystudio will have some playing on it from Rick that was cut out when KTA 1 & 2 was released. I think one bit was an introduction at the beginning of "Sign Language" that is 2 or 3 minutes long. Rick discusses why parts of his music were cut in an interview that can be found in NFTE. So there will be a snippet of new material on the disk.

I agree with Tim. Since there are no new songs on it, I will not purchase it. But like Dee, I will probably buy it to add to my collection. Not right away though, maybe when it hits the cd clubs at a reduced price.

Isn't it great that Yes is still touring after all these years.

See ya!

Rick seemed to really enjoy the added material and stated one time that he thought they had erased it, maybe to spite him, so this may be an extended hand to Rick for possible involvement in the future, so.....my point is, if we as Yes fans support anything that Yes does, they will stay around longer.

What Do I Think Of The 'What Does Everyone Think Of The New Keysstudio Release' Thread At Yesfans.com....

Well personally I think its a very old thread and for the life of me I cannot work out why it is that the software/database/little man in the background who sorts though all the facts and figures when I click on the 'Todays Posts' link should bother telling me that somethings been posted here when it bloomin obviously hasn't so I say who made the software and if it was that bloke Gates then kick him in the goollies and shout at him HEY - YOUR SOFTWARE SUCKS AND CRASHES AND IS A DRAIN ON RESOURCES and I HOPE THAT HURT YOU JERK and if its the database then buy a new one and if its the little man in the background who sorts though all the facts and figures when I click on the 'Todays Posts' link then sack the prat cause he isn't doing his job right.

Of course now someones really posted sum'thin new here and now it will become a drain on band width, which as we all know means that Yes are FAT and explains why, in Hurry Home off his Change We Must album, Jon Anderson sings

We're gonna change our history, we're gonna change our style
They've been watching for many years, but growing so wide

a process thats become ever more obvious ever since Keystudio came out - the bands wider and the fans are wider and individually they all now weigh what they weighed collectivily when they were much younger as Rick would so :ele:quently put it.

It has come up as a recent thread because someone voted without leaving a message. The system is working OK.

I also have keys 1 and 2 and liked the packages when they came out - I dont really see the point of the new Cd because any true Yesfan would have purchased Keys 1 and 2 regardless of how well marketed they were. At the end of the day we all go to the music shops and look at the Yes collection regardless of whether we have all the albums or not just in case there is something that we might miss.
