ok thanks. but did you like it? it has some rough edges that i need to go over, like it abruptly changes, and i need to fix that.

If you put a whole band around that, you'd have a song to work with. I thought it was cool. I'm into that crazy-sort-of-stuff!:D

Wait......What the hell? You live in Duluth!?!?!? And you play Keys? And you like Yes? And I live in Saint paul!?!?!? And I like Yes!?!?!? Wow, if you ever move to the TwinCities, we'll have to Jam!

Here's how to get your files uploaded! Of course i am assuming you know what I am talking about regarding each little thing about mp3's and software and stuff, but if you have any questions post here or email me privately and I'll explain them to you.

1. First (after you've recorded the songs and made them into .wav files or at least have them burned to a CD) you'll need to make mp3's out of them. You'll need a converting program to do this, unless your burning software allows you to open your .wav files and save them as whatever you want them to be. Either way you'll want to save them in MP3 format with at "128 kpbs". This is because MP3.com doesn't allow you to upload anything different than that.

2. Go to MP3.com and set yourself up as a "New Artist". You can choose either "Premium" package or the regular one which is free, I am signed up that way and it's just fine. It does take a week or two sometimes to have your song up there though.

3. As you go through the process of signing yourself up, you choose what the URL is to your page, what the images and design look like (you have only so much control though), what songs in what order and what genre, etc.... You then get a "www.mp3.com/yournamehere" and wait until they approve your songs.

I am not sure if you already knew that stuff or what, but if not, hope it helps!

ok, thanks harold, i'll do that, but its a pain with a 28.8k connection to upload and download. but yeah, i live in duluth, im a newbie keyboard player though, i don't know how to read music or anything like that, but i think i'm getting better. and i actually plan on moving to the twin cities as early as this summer. if so, i will definatly go to a whitespace show or whatever. that would be cool.

Yeah, the slow connections can suck. It would have to be one of those things where you upload one song per day. Liked the other song too, keep it up!

here are the remaining ones ive made that are under 4 megs...until i can get the others uploaded somehwhere else (theres 2 that are about 6 megs). i re-did the 'spots before my eyes' track (previously known as '4') just a little to smooth it over a bit. its still the same thing, just a small change. oh yeah, a little warning, i would turn down the volume a lot, becuase it recorded really loud. so just turn the volume down a lot at first till you see how loud it plays for you.

another note, the last one there, 'The Way It Is,' the piano part at the begining, that might be from a classical song, im not sure, i was just playing around, but it seemed realy familiar when i did that..

Jon Anderson once said, that one cannot be a true musician if one doesn't compose. Let us all compose!

heres one more that i made, i consider this one to be my best. its a midi file, so it doesnt sound exactly like it does when i play it back on cakewalk (some of the instruments sound pretty cheesy), but its pretty close. and its really small so everyone can download it in like a few seconds. it gets cut off a little at the end. it has a cool acoustic guitar solo during minute 5 that i made up on the fly.
