Who here has seen the two “Kill Bill” movies? I thought they were really very good. Volume 1 was so incredibly violent it was like watching a live action “Itchy & Scratchy,” but Volume 2 was relatively mellow, especially for a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Probably my favorite part in either film was Vol. 2’s fight between Elle and The Bride- that was pretty funny (in the same sense that Mia’s OD in “Pulp Fiction” was funny, I guess).
For those of you who haven’t seen either and aren’t thrilled with violence, I strongly recommend renting Kill Bill Volume 2, as it stands pretty well on its own.

Haven't seen the Kill Bill movies, but I should. I love when Uma says, "I'm gonna kill Bill!" Reminds me of.....well.....me!
My husband's name is Bill and I have said those exact words many times over the years. :lmao:

Utterly fantasic films..and yet so different from one another. I can now appreciate why they were seperated into two volumes. They are worlds apart. Wherein the first one is a chop-sockey tribute to slaughterhouse Japanese films, blaxpoitation and Mid 70's Drive-in fare..the second volume, dare I say reminds me of a Sergio Leone Speghetti Western..mixed with some of the most brilliant dialogue I have ever witnessed. Its hard not to say too much cause I don't want to spoil them for anyone...
Carradine deserves an Oscar nod for his role as Bill, Ive never seen a more understated brilliance attributed to a Villian since Olivier in Marathon Man.
One cannot say enough about Uma...(drool drool) damn it! Wait thats innuendo again isnt it...Im so naughty...but she is fantastic in this role...
The whole series is just a feast for the eyes and ears..and those savvy enough to pick up the obscure references in dialog and scene should get a kick out of these movies..
Im so glad Tarrentino is back..I heard his next project is a Civil War pic called .."Inglorious Bastards."
Should be interesting!

SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD!
If you have made such an ultra-violence tour-de-force film like Kill Bill Volume 1, how do you top it? Exactly, you can't. That's why QT made Volume 2 a very different movie altogether. I personally think that Volume 1 has the action scenes and Volume 2 establishes the story.
Memorable scenes:
- Uma Thurman stepping on Daryl Hannah's eyeball!
- Superman monologue by David Carradine
- Uma Thurman's hand reaching out from the grave (an homage to Evil Dead :D )

SPOILERS AHEAD AGAIN!!!
I watched it with a friend of mine and he totally cringed when he saw that eyeball scene. He said, "That was totally unnecessary!!" :D All in good fun, of course, because he's also a big fan of QT. Not so many people in the theater building laughed at that scene I think, and I was probably the loudest one :lmao: There goes my weird sense of humor again... hahaha
Enjoy your Kill Bill weekend Scoot!

Scoot...
You really HAVE to watch them BOTH, in order. That's an order!
I watched Kill Bill 2 at work today... Saw it in the theatre as well.
The first film is the East, the second film is the West.
A spaghetti western, that's Kill Bill 2.
Fun stuff, but for the stout-hearted...
Now where's my pint of 'stout'? Ah, there it is!

Oh yeah, Tarantino has said he was planning to make Volume 3. But maybe not in another 15-20 years?
Hey the mob boss beheading by Lucy Liu scene is also awesome right? Harhar! (oh is my laugh starting to sound like Earl's?)

Great flicks! Just watched vol 2 thursday nt.
Uma was perfect for that role, as was David Carradine. Loved his playing the flute- reminicent of his "Kung Fu" days.
Darryl Hannah is still georgeous!

when i saw it, the audience just about exploded during the eyeball scene. i mean, this theater was packed, it was a sneak preview 2 days before it was released, full of mostly film geeks since you either had to pay more than a regular priced ticket (so here in NYC, that would be an arm, a leg, and your first born child) or have made (or in my case, got your parents to make) a several hundred dollar (tax-deductible) donation to this museum so that you can get free tickets to their special events. anyway, it was so loud, it was hard to tell where the laughs ended, and the gagging began
