As much as I enjoyed the symphonic Magnification tour, I was extremely disappointed that Yes didn't cover any songs from the one album in which they'd used an orchestra...it just seemed bizarre; I couldn't help wondering if Steve Howe had vetoed playing any Time & A Word songs?

I feel the same way. The orchestra worked well on that tour which I think surprised a lot of people. But why no selections from the original orchestral days? Missed opportunity for sure.

Does seem a bit strange, doesn't it?

Perhaps strange, but how long ago did they last play/rehearse those songs? How many of the current line up have played those songs at all? I suspect it was a lack of interest and familiarity. Too bad, it was a missed opportunity.

Only just seen this thread now but it is an excellent point doc...as you say T&W was designed for orchestra so would have been a natural choice. But how much Yes stuff is not played because of band predjudice...No Drama ..Jon won''t do it....no The Ancient...Alan wants to Chris thinks it's too difficult for most fans to understand...Rick won't play GoD or any Relayer except Soon.... ABWH...Chris won't play it cause it's 'not Yes'. The ladder ....Rick won't play cause it's Koroshev....Steve won't play most of TR stuff or PB stuff.....so we get the setlists we do real shame really....

Well, the main thing is that they play SOMETHING at shows, right?
