I don't know if it's been discussed here too much, but Garageband.com is a GREAT site for musicians that want to get exposure and want to get some critiques of their own music.

You can register for free--write up your bio, add gigs, sell CDs--and you have the choice of either paying a small fee to upload songs OR you can simply review other songs from independent artists and these reviews will count as credits in order to upload your own songs. Songs can be entered into 'Charts' and the higher the material is rated by other users, the higher it goes up in the charts and the more people that are exposed to it.

I find it great for a number of reasons--you get unbiased feedback on your music, you get to hear unsigned artists--many of which are quite good--and you get to advertise your music and gigs to other people in your position.

Anyway, if you haven't heard about this site, definitely read more about it at http://www.garageband.com.

Yes, thanks; we've also done so; but haven't spent the bucks to receive the critique's we really don't care to hear. Not that we can't accept criticism, we just don't care anymore.

I don't believe you have to pay to have others members of the site review your work, you just have to review some music first. While some of the reviews are jibberish and less-than-helpful, more reviews seem to be insightful and helpful. I also think it's a blast to hear people from France, Norway, Spain, etc. telling me what they think about my music.

You do have to put in quite a few reviews in order to keep your stuff in rotation. In the end, listening to all that stuff is enough to make you scream and run off the nearest pier!

LOL. Good point, but it's kinda fun to "play producer" and make suggestions on how to improve something.
