I saw a guitar in the hard Rock Cafe in New York which had Steve's name under it. It was an old black double neck pedal steel type guitar and actually looked home made I couldn't see any identifying marks on it and I don't recall ever seeing it on stage.

Anyone know anything about this instrument?

PEDAL steel or LAP steel? I'd bet it was a lap steel if it could hang on a wall.

I don't know a thing about it, yet I've been to that Hard Rock. Hmmm. I wonder if it's a Carvin. They certainly had a funkay look. Steve must have been experimenting with a number of things before he made up his mind.

Gibson has a nice 175 hollow body model endorsed by Steve. (Very expensive) There's one at Bill's Music House in Catonsville, Md. Neat item!!

A lap steel and Hard Rock usually don't mix...

Rusty Young of POCO and Steve Howe. El Rayo-X.

...Jerry Garcia decided that he needed another lifetime to explore the unfettered worlds of the steel guitar...
I imagine he's on another plane of existence, tooling away on the dobro somewhere east of earth.

Steve Howe is playing madcap slide on his fretless thingamabob here in the now...

Meistro!

Steve Howe: Guitar God.

Kurt: agreed

Earl: Rusty Young of POCO and Steve Howe. El Rayo-X.

Kurt: What's wrong with this picture?

Earl: ...Jerry Garcia decided that he needed another lifetime to explore the unfettered worlds of the steel guitar...
I imagine he's on another plane of existence, tooling away on the dobro somewhere east of earth.

Kurt: Hmmmmmmm Now all I have to do is figure out which way is east of earth??????
