It's my favourite,one of the best for all-time classic albums.Best Wakeman's keyboards work, inspirational slow tune of Steve's hawaii guitar in "And you and I", rough riffy basses of Chris and of course jazzy drums...... I always know that Bruford is genious.

Just listened to it again;
This is without a doubt one of the best albums i've ever heard. The musicianship on it is fantastic; beautiful lyrlics, no matter how odd they may be, while the music is so extremely moving and layered that you can help wonder how these guys managed to pull it off! Close to the edge is a great song; fanastic lyrics and playing on this song, and definatly makes you think about what they are singing. Rick has some great moments on this. And you and I is a simply gorgeous love song [as far as i'm concerend] and on a personal level, makes you feel optimistic and makes you dift into a peaceful place, wherever that maybe! Steves acoustic is fantastic! And finally, Siberian Khatru is one of the best rockers the band has done, while maintaining the level of writing that we would come to expect from Yes. Guitar riffs on this tune are something to remember the album by especially!
And in all, a wonderful album; god knows why I didnt appreciate it as much as I do now when I first got it!
its apropriotly called Close to the Edge, because its the farthest anyone has ever taken music before. As "Close to the Edge" as anyone has ever got. It is an album so great it cannot be described in words.
