Does anyone know exactly what basses Chris uses on this year's tour? And what songs he uses them on? I understand he has a new blue Mouridian bass just like his green one.

Well ELLIS I paid especial attention to this matter when I saw them at Madison Sq. Garden this past Thursday! But to keep this forum spoiler-free (and assuming you haven't seen them yet), I'll just list the basses he apparently brought along with him. Personally, I don't fully understand why he changed so often, beyond what was necessary -- i.e., he played other ones on tunes where the Rick was originally played, or would've done just fine, but . . . hey, he's the man, so he can do whatever he sees fit!
If you want to know the songs on which these were used (as far as I can recall), PM me.
1. The Rick' (of course!)
2. Mouradian (green)
3. Ranney (white)
4. Ranney 8-string
5. Carvin 6-string
6. Fender or Lakland (?), silver
7. Martin acoustic
8. Tobias contrabass (dark red four-string tuned BEAD)
9. unknown blue one w/white pickguard. Don't know if it's by Mouradian, but it isn't exactly like his green one. It *may* be his Photon piccolo-bass, which he mentioned he had in some interview (possibly from Notes from the Edge).
I believe the white and blue one was a fender jazz job.
I was paying close attention myself saturday night although I was on Steves side of the stage. The both of them had quite the arsenal for this tour.

Does he not have his white Electra Tempus Fugit bass with him?

Does he not have his white Electra Tempus Fugit bass with him?
SPOILER THIS POST
The Electra was not used at MSG because Squire only needs it for "Every Little Thing".

After some research, some corrections to my list above!
-- The silver one is indeed a Lakland . . . as seen on Chris's own equipment/otherguitars page
-- Whoops; right -- for "Ranney (white)" I meant Westone Electra!
-- The unknown blue one is indeed a Mouradian. I found a picture of the same model on some dude's site: http://www.zyworld.com/patbadger/GEAR1.htm
michelforest -- I'm pretty sure he did play the Westone Electra, else I wouldn't have listed it (however misnomered) as being seen! I think he played it on the first encore tune*. But again the concert was a week and a half ago, and though the impression remains, the exact particulars are fading!
*{SPOILER follows} . . .

I just got an awesome pic from the michigan show , he is in the back of Jon singing with this beautiful light wooden bass, sort of like the color of entwistles.
If anyone out there knows what I am talking about, I would love to know the make and model of this creature.

swib -- can you link the pic you're describing? (assuming it's online)

(swib sent me the pic by e-mail)
Aha, swib -- that's his Carvin "LB-76" (http://www.carvin.com/products/guitar.php?ItemNumber=LB76). (I have one myself, though only in basic black!) I think the exact model he has is their "Anniversary" edition, with fancy woods (quilted maple) etc.
He played this guitar on one tune when I saw them recently, but I think his use of it may go back to the Ladder or OYE era . . . his pic has appeared in their catalog for several years now.
Thank you very much. I loved the lineup of his guitars on this tour
Since I cannot afford one of his ricks, I will try one of these.
Get this, the guy I sold my rick to was at the signing in Cambridge. He came right up to me and poked me on the shoulder, just as I was talking about my story. He now has 2 of chris's signature basses, and wouldn't sell mine back to me.
Damn it all!
The price on the anniversary one is $1150.00 good price.

He owns two of the limited edition CS signature Rickies?? Now, that just strikes me as being plain wrong . . . rather selfish.
Of course, who am I to blah blah blah, and I admit my avarice (I passed up chances to own one, however its high price tag . . . I still have in mind the image of one in a music store near Wash. D.C. from 10 years ago or so), but still.
Ah well. I wish Tobias would replicate for sale his long-scale "contrabass" . . . now that's a unique one!
Good thing you weren't there to see me beg and plead for it back, oh no he said one is getting cased as a collecters item, the other one he plays in his band, who the hell plays a chris squire rickenbacker in a country band?????
I want my baby back!!!! whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Chris also played a Sadowsky bass on at least one song:

Walter Becker with Steely Dan plays Sadowsky guitars as well. They are high quality and quite "spendy", as we like to say here in Oregon!

tell me this man did not look really good on this tour?

He looked fit and trim, and most importantly, happy.

Can't tell you that, swib, 'cause he did indeed look good -- every bit the lanky, energetic rock'n'roller! He was having a ball whaling away on the kettledrums, later in the show, too.
A CS Ricky in a country band??!! Now that's just plain cruel . . .
Brewer, I'm pretty sure that's a Lakland bass he's playing there. See the list on this page (http://chrissquire.com/cs_equipotherguitars.html) on Chris's own site, and note the alt-tag of the pic that shows him playing that same bass . . .
Hard to tell the Fender-descendants apart, though I agree, Sadowskys are quite niiiiice (there's a used one at a store up the street here that keeps beckoning)!
