You'd have to expect that a complete concert DVD will come out of the 2004 tour. Has anyone seen any sign yet of filming on stage or backstage? My guess is that the Wembley show in mid June will be an ideal occassion to record and release as any bugs in the playing and the equipment should be well and truely ironed out by then.
Wouldn't it be appropriate if Sweet Dreams was pushed back further in the setlist and Peter Banks was invited to join them on stage for that number?

Yes. More than 'I want...', 'It'd be great if...', 'Why don't Yes...', I think it would be 'appropriate' for them to get, finally, Peter on stage. 'Imagine if...' they did SD and Astral Traveller? 'It's easy if you try...'
GREAT IDEA!

The Lowell Massachusetts gig on May 15 is to be filmed for a PBS TV special and possibly for a DVD, according to Yesworld.

Yeah, great idea. I'll take my copy of that awful Beyond and Before CD Banks compiled and launch it at him from my Block A seat!

So you've already thrown your Ultimate Yes CD at TimeWarner's receptionist?
Not nice...
This is a Yesperiod that is denied by far too many Yesfans. Peter was a founder member and his work laid the 35 year unshakeable foundation. So he put out an album with some poor sonics on it. WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE COUNTLESS BLOODY AWFUL BOOTLEGS THAT EVERYONE COLLECTS? He only did what the BBC should have done years ago and released that stuff for us!

I agree and I'm not denying that period of Yes music. I love the early era Yes and I really like Peter's guitar sound, but that CD was truly awful. Ropey sound, ropey packaging and the liner notes were just sour grapes. Infact, fairly typical of recent compilation releases by Yes generally.
Peter banks has never been able to put aside his bitterness about leaving (being fired from) Yes. At the time it was a necessary move to ensure the band progressed to the next level of their career and whilst it may not have been 'fair,' without that personnel change at that time, the band may never have amounted to what they became.
No, I have no problem with Mr Banks' contribution to Yes. Just that crap CD!

And you'd be right not to! Out of desperation for new material, some of us are buying pretty much anything that comes out; the extra tracks on In A Word, the extra tracks on Ultimate, never mind the extra stuff on the Rhino remasters.
So we bought Something's Coming/Beyond & Before (same mindset) and were disappointed - badly disappointed - by the sound. This probably should never have been released. And now there're loads of various repackaged versions which continue to add to the initial sin. (There're some tracks there that sound alright, and together with the 2 tracks on Yesyears they were on a bootleg LP many years ago.)
We can only hope that there's something from this era (with some fidelity) on the live box set... which is another purchase we'll have to make before there is anything new.
Frustrated, ain't we...?
Erm... this thread was about a DVD?

PBS is a public television network. I think it stands for Public Broadcasting Service. It is supported by private endowments and viewers' contributions. In other words, there are no commercial advertisements.

Some corporations are making donations and because of that, viewers are begining to get bombarded with commercial type material.

I hope that in 5 years, when they are celebrating the 40th anniversary, they will be ready to finally bury the hatchet and invite Peter Banks on stage.

Not wanting to intefere with other ongoing proceedings, I do now fess up to having a 2 hour DVD from the Lugano show this summer, July 8th. Off TV. 2 hours means that last 3 minutes or so of Roundabout are missing, sorry. If despite this impediment, anyone is interested in a copy, let me know. Personally, I think vid and aud are much more than acceptable; they are delightful, despite the weather. Just one more proviso: While some of the DVDs I made work in the USA, others might not. This is PAL based and I don't seem to be able to switch the recording setting to NTSC. Then again, it might. If you want a copy (and I don't have boundless funds for blank DVDs and postage) let me know; so far I mailed out 8 copies to various parts of the world. I can probably do another 8 or so without tightening the belt.
And lastly, there may complete and possibly more professionally done DVDs emerge; I am just offering to share what I got. Hence, I'll not tolerate any criticisms, not that I'd expect there to be any.

That sounds wonderful! I would like to opt for a copy, I don't have much to offer in return, as I am quite new around here. I could send you recordable discs or a video about where I live & what I do (boating in Holland).

This month's Record Collector magazine says that there are plans to release a DVD of the Yes 35th Anniversary 2004 tour, in time for Christmas.
I know I had a camera pointed at me at the Manchester concert, but does anyone know if there definitely will be a DVD of the tour or is this RC spreading FUD?
(I'd like to finally see AYAI as my view was blocked by a young lady attempting to dance to it during the concert - LOL).

Yes, the Lowell show was certainly recorded for video. I was there and saw many cameras. I recently visited Henry Potts' site (where are they now Yes members) and read the following, which is good news indeed! Tsongas is a reference to Tsongas Arena, where the Lowell MA show was last May.
"35th Anniversary Concert—Songs from Tsongas" is a forthcoming DVD from this year's live shows, due 4 Oct in the UK (Region 2, PAL) and 20 Oct in Japan (Region 2, NTSC; WPBR-90383). The DVD includes (unspecified) special features, a 180 minute running time and both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 channel surround sound. It would appear to have been recorded at the 15 May 2004 show in Lowell, MA, which was filmed for a PBS (US TV) broadcast—a 1 hour edit of the show is showing on various dates in Aug in the US
