Hey all,
Just an FYI. i was at my local Barnes and Nobles this evening and Steve is on the cover of Guitar World Acoustic MAgazine April Issue. Its an awesome shot of hime..I would guess from late 70's sitting with a few of his acoustic beauties. its a great article..and it even touches on the new tour. As a bonus or 2 actually, There is the Tablature for "Clap" and a very nice one page ad for Washburn guitars featuring Jon...:)

I knew there was a reason I bought a Washburn guitar last year.
Is that magazine available in the UK ??? -I know it says Guitar World - but is international?
Also does anyone know where I can get the Tablature for the opening of "Roundabout" before the band kicks in...??? I'm a newee to guitar - and have figured out the Harmonics bit on my own and where it descends down the neck to "D" on the second fret after that I'm stumped

Good article, but a bit short for my taste. It did renew (or spark) an interest in learning Clap again.

hey guys!! havent been to the 'steve' thread in a long while.. hehe.. :stick:
and while you;re at it finding roundabout music for koko, can anyone here play 'show me'?
if so, could anyone PLEASE post those chords here? [or is there another place to post music and chords and the like? nightliner??]
maybe if ya watch a dvd or video, koko, you could figure it out just be 'seeing' [hehe] it..:D [if you dont have any visuals of 'show me' let me know-if my american dvd works over there, i'd be happy to send it over for ya!]
that worked for me at the marshall tucker show last month-i just made sure i was close by the flute guy when they began the song i wanted to learn and voila!!! [started on 'D'-hehe!]
and thanx for posting this, scoot..always good when our boys get some recognition..i can see the 'whippersnapper' guitar dudes now-'who IS this old guy?' hahaha!! they'd do VERY well to research our man howe!!;)

$23 for sub in the states-it IS international, koko, but it says for foreign orders to 'add 100%'.. damn!! that's a LOT..
[this month it says there is music [tab? chords?] for 4 nick drake songs, too! i LIKE him!! [altho he has sad music, to me]
i might be able to hunt one down today, koko-

Marshall Tucker Band!! Wow Kathi, I haven't heard those guys in years--have a couple of albums, but no CD's. What song are you learning? The one that goes, "can't you see, ohhh, can't you see, what that woman, she been doin' to me.." Pretty flute in that...
Thanks for the heads up, Scott. I usually go to B&N or Borders on Fri. or Sat. night, I hope they have some left.

Koko, try this: http://www.guitaretab.com/y/yes/21142.htm
Caveat: A friend taught me to play the intro to Roundabout many years ago, but I'm not good enough to compare what I know with what's in the tab posted above, or even if this tab is correct!

YEP!! that's the one, trudy!!
a local band here said if i learn that tune, they'd like to add it to thier set. [i knew' heard it in a love song' long ago..This one is called 'cant ya see' i guess]
the singers voice was SHOT-painful-but the rest of the show was a rip-snorter-the woodwind dude [they never siad anyones name-duh!] was EXCELLENT to watch..
good show, but NOT like the old days.. [i am more sober lately..hehe ;) ]
congrats koko-guess you'll be busy doing your 'homework'-or 'fretwork' now, so we'll see ya soon!!:D
have FUN! cant wait to hear it!! a few months should be enough time to practice..:D
YARS!! "I like real notation with my Tab as well..."
i just wish i could really READ ANY music well!! hahah!! :welcome:
I got this issue. I am trying to learn "clap" right now.
Its not an easy song.

Clap and a number of Steve's other solo acoustic stuff (mood for a day, leaves of green, meadow rag, ram, etc - also the sound chaser solo) are transcribed in a book which I have, it's good and fun to look at and play bits and pieces from because I'm not good enough to play any of the songs all the way through or at full speed. But they seem to be accurate.
It has pictures and a little bit of commentary on each of the pieces from Steve. Buy it here:
