I'm asking because I actually forgot and would like to know the name of the club. I know it's a pretty well known fact, I just don't remember where I've read it and don't want to go hunting around. Anyone?

La Chasse in London.
Can I assume from your post that you are a Love fan? Arthur Lee is a minor hero of mine in the way he's bounced back big time after hitting rock bottom. Great music as well and still going strong!

I agree. He is a cult hero in Southern Cal music scene. Forever Changes is years ahead of its time. (Da Capo too).
It's kinda funny because the first album was proto-punk and Da Capo and F.C. were proto-prog. The later stuff (the Blue Thumb years) was a hodge-podge of pop ballads and straight rock.
Arthur ranks right up there with Brian Wilson, John Lennon and Dylan.

I only "know" that it was a drapery shop where they met Alan the first time:-)

It is a flowershop these days, members of the YesFocus staff were there a year and a half ago...

Thanks guys. Yup, Arthur Lee is wonderful. Forever Changes is the only album I know very well. My parents were fans back in the 60s and recently took me, a non-fan, to a Love show last January. It was one of the greatest shows I have ever seen and I was converted. If anyone here gets a chance to see him and the new band (complete with string quartet and mini horn section) then go go go go!
