Forgive me if this has been covered in another forum. I've always admired Roger's work on the Yes albums, and recognized his handiwork on other bands' album covers, too, including Uriah Heep and Gentle Giant.

RD is truly a historian of other worlds past, and a remarkable visionary of worlds that are yet to come. My favorite work is Gentle Giant's Octopus cover, with the fierce red octopus drawn in such detail, with Roger's signature style. It's one of what must be very few non-fantasy covers by Mr. Dean.

Yes, I was a bit disappointed that the Octopus (Gentle Giant) and Magician's Birthday (Uriah Heep) covers weren't included in his downloads. I would have bought them, otherwise.

I just saw a book by another artist..........very much influenced by Dean or vice versa. If I didn't know better I would have sworn it was Dean's work but I cannot recall his name at the moment.

Hi Dances,

Guess who... haha.

Maybe if you take a look at

www.papertiger.co.uk

you could find out more about your artist? Just a guess..

Paper tiger is a publishing company set up by Dean in the 80's and many fantasy artists have found their way in one of PT's publications.

Best W.

Did you all know that Roger Dean did the logo and cover art for the Tetris Worlds PC game? Also he did the opening animation sequence for the game.

On to the heart of the sunrise!

Two more I recall from the 70s: 2 OSIBISA covers featuring the notorious flying elephants and McKENDREE SPRING SPRING SUITE. He did a lot more that were UK releases only (pre-YES). Oh and dont forget the awesome landscape for Steve's BEGINNINGS.
