Roger Dean Wallpaper

I just spent the mere $16+ to order the downloads of the new Roger Dean artwork for desktop wallpaper. Wow. This stuff looks really great and I'm really happy. Get it and you'll seen what I mean.

This may be a dumb question but does it really only work with Mac's? Can you buy these same wallpapers and use them just as well with Windows based PC's?
Also, what is the resolution?

How many pics did you get? Did you get "Flights of Icarus"?

It's a buy one set, get another set free, 24 total images (Flights Of Icarus is not included). The images are downloaded as jpgs with your choice of a variety of resolutions. I got 1600x1200. Now since they are in jpg format, I don't know why they wouldn't work on a PC, but then I'm a Mac guy and don't know much about PCs. But the images are really super sharp and have never looked better.

I use mac for a while now and for both systems Mac and PC/Windows JPG format is fine for desktop wallpaper. I don't know much about Windows either (and I like to keep it that way :) but the JPG format is used most of the time for desktop wallpaper.

Hi Blue eagle, maybe this is helpful to you. I post the file of Flights of Icarus a I used them on my desktop. It measures 1152 x 870 pix.

That's one of my favorite Dean pics. I always thought it was a shame it never made on to a YES cover.
I found a poster of it at a record store in 1980 but it got lost in moves. :(

I know about this poster. It was one of those printed by BIG O in he late seventies. I do have a friend of mine who has a huge collection of RD posters. I go and see him very often as I use those posters to study Roger's work.

Flights of icarus is actually one of those who are printed larger then the original painting. Most of the time the original is bigger then the printed version, whether it is an art print or a poster.

Maybe we'll get Roger willing to release a series of art prints with FOI as well? Who knows...

A couple others that would be great posters are the Budgie album cover and "The Lord of Ages"

I believe Lord of the Ages is being published by BIG O as well. Which Budgie album cover are you referring to? There is a cover with a spatted background and this birdmachine, and a blueish one with a huge eagle on it..

Some years ago I was involved in the dutch fanclub YesFocus. At that time I've tried to get in touch with Peter Ledeboer, who was working with Roger At Chevalier printers Rotterdam mid 70's. Perhaps he could tell more about things that have been published or not...

Anyway, I'll see if I can find those posters. I'll send you a PM about wallpapers.

The Budgie album he describes only as their 3rd album.- Its probably the eagle one you mentioned- it has mountains in the background.

Including the Flights of Icarus image Blue Eagle! And what is a surprise to me is the Pier image, used only for the Keys to Ascension double pack...

Hmmm... Something has been done with the ladder image... Noticed those colours and clouds? I wander if he'd done a complete new painting on that...
