I just sent an e-mail to Dr. Rhino's office (the product question section of Rhino's official website) enquiring about Big Generator. I'll let you all know what the reply is when I get it.

No, I'm trying to figure out if they plan to reissue/ remaster it.

I hate to tell you this, but you'll never get a reply from Rhino. I've sent several messages to Dr. Rhino and never got a response. That goes back three years.

Why do I think I heard recently that they are indeed reissuing previous albums? I seem to remember thinking to myself, "Oh, great, and I just upgraded most of my tapes to CDs last month!" Naturally BG happens to be the one CD I couldn't find (and Talk, too).

Yes, they have and are doing re-issues of the entire Atlantic catalog on Rhino. Big Generator is the only Atlantic album that hasn't been mentioned. 'Talk' has also been re-issued on another label.

If you can stand to get on eBay (she's a newbie to it!!), you can get all the CD's for less then $5 a piece, sometimes still sealed!! These are not the re-issues. Or Half.com works the same way. I would go there, before I hit Amazon. Got to watch those pennies!! ;)

I actually found BG in a record store earlier this week for $5.

(Got Union for $11 and ordered Talk from Amazon for $15. Worth it!)

It would be great if Rhino remastered it, but not sure if it was big (no pun intended...orrrrrrr was it???) enough to warrant a remaster. They did do Drama so maybe. And it did have a couple of hits...there must be a ton of extras they could put on it with all the time spent on BG. BG has a special place in my heart so I got my toes crossed.

Yeah, me too, it being the first new Yes music I got to hear, followed closely by ABWH. There are alot of extras. The remix of the title track is already on Ultimate Yes, but there is also a great remix of Rythm of Love, a single edit and an extended version of Love Will Find a Way, demos of Final Eyes and I'm Running, and versions of the title track and Shoot High Aim Low with different lyrics. And there might be more stuff in the vaults too, who knows?
