If you see in the "Yes Members" forum every section has the description: "This forum for talking about your favorite __________..." except for Rick's forum. Why is this? Isn't he as important or intresting as the other Yesmen?

Wakeman is my favorite.
Moraz is a close second.
But Wakey is the right stuff for YES, and is always the preferable to me.
An amazing keys-man, and always the gist of the sound of YES.
So you are most CERTAINLY not alone, mi compadre!

I think the reason is quite simple - when the forum was set up Wakeman was not in Yes. Since his return it has just been inadvertently overlooked.

Where did you meet him? did you have a chance to talk to him?
Today I bought ANOTHER copy of the "Myths..." LP (I had 2 already but I left
them in Puerto Rico) for him to sign it next week.
I always cry at the end of that album when the narrator says: "About the year 1200 the monks of Glastonbury discovered the bones of Arthur..." and then the orchestra finishes with that incredible emotion. wow!

i met rick at the westbury music fair on long island, new york. what a great little venue! i highly reccomend it. it is in the round, but for this show, it was in the half round. soooo small, not a bad seat in the house. acoustics were great.
rick had a grand piano and a keyboard set up, and he played wonderfully, but the best part is that the guy is genuinely funny and engaging! i loved his stories. he claims to be considered quite a comedian back in europe.
after the show, he stays around to sign autographs and he claims to sign ANYTHING.. he says he even signed some girls "knickers" while they were still on her.
in line, there was this 12 year old girl who was crazy over him and told me that she wants to play just like him. well, this made me pretty happy.
i eventually got to talk to him for a bit, got a few autographs for me and a few friends, and, no, i didn't have to buy anything like at jon's concert (are you reading this, jon?)
and i got a great pic of us hugging.
i love him, what can i say.

If I ever meet Rick, I'd love him to sign my copy of "White Rock," though with all the black on the album cover, I might need a gold or silver marker.

Yeskid I think you would enjoy the interviews that were done by one of our YESFANS.COM members Jonk. Here is the link to the website:

Fabulous Wakey interview on there, about 20 minutes or so long. Have a listen. Wakeman's humor will resonate throughout the rest of your day!
Jonk has quite an archive of proggers and rockers on there. Check out that website.

That's great!! Today when I bought "Myths..." I thought I'd like to play a joke on him by telling him "hey Rick could you sign me you 2 fav Yes albums?" and I would give him a copy of 'Tales...' & 'Union' just to see his reaction. But instead I bought that one("Myths..." which is one of my fav albums.
I have the "Say Yes" bio and is very funny and ... well he's always funny. I loved when he & Rabin were laughing during "I've seen all good people" on the "Union" DVD, and his statement at the end of the "Greatest Hits on Video".
I also love the guy, as if he was my older brother. Specially for his solo career and his personality.
Well, wish me luck with Ricky next week.

I met Rick some years back (while managing 'Hollander' who opened for him) and had the opportunity to sit and chat with him. I had a scrap book of articles from his "Six Wives" period (I had collected YES articles since 1970 and this was one of the many books) and he signed it "Incredible, just amazing" . . ..
he looked at every page and was flabbergasted
One of the nicest musicians on the planet !!

much better! But I prefer:
"let's talk about the most talented, lovely, greatest, sweetest and our favourite Keyboardist. Our wonderful Mr. Rick Wakeman with his golden hands and gorgeous face and not to forget his hair..."
but yours is also good!
