Help needed with Midi

I have a Casio CTK651 midi keyboard. When I hook it up to my PC I can't get the keyboard to output the midi signal to the PC. I have set the keyboard to 'local off' and the cables are the right way round.

Anyone have any knowledge or know where I can get help with this. I have had the keyboard for a year now and it just sits in the box:crybby:

is this a dated thread or what!

you gotta be sure they're both on the same channel (say, channel 1 or channel ALL)

if you want the keyboard to make a noise you can't switch local off unless you bring MIDI back from the PC OUT to the IN of the keyboard
