......in a CD shop in Glasgow's West end, looking for the Rhino release of Going For The One.
All of a sudden, a pacy little song comes over the in house PA. Bass is crisp, clear and suspiciously Squire-like. Bit of Relayer stylee keyboards about halfway through and a long sustained sort of harmony for a chorus.
Lyrics towards the end said something about "station to station" at one point but was finding it hard to concentrate on them because of the, frankly fantastic, bassline.

Now, my question is......what is it? I'm assuming it's either a Conspiracy tune or Yes because there's too many Yes type ingredients for it not to be.

Having not paid attention to any of their output post ABWH, I would love for somebody to put me out of my misery so I can go out and BUY IT!!!

Well, why didnīt you ask the shop personnel what they were playing in their cd-player? Might not still be too late. Go back there and ask them which cd:s they have been playing in the store recently. I think it should be fairly easy to track down the song/cd in question.

I have a question......what is a Hairyhaw? Hairy PAW I'm down with but HAW?

In the land of Hawdom...ha. Welcome Hairyhaw. I have NO idea what song that was. I would have asked.
and welcome to you PJS...we have almost the same initials.

thankyou for the kind welcome!

I would have asked but.........being a shy retiring young thing, I didn't.

Hairyhaw- General term exclusive to pub singers in the South West of Scotland. Used when said singer is too drunk to be actually capable of any proper pronunciation of lyrics and the words to any (usually Perry Como) song that he/she sings end up coming through the PA as......

"ahhhhhh, haaaaaiiiiiiiryhaaaawwwwww."

Ok, a hunch led me to Chris's website and I have found out that it's off his last Conspiracy album and is called "New World". Some bassline it has to be said.....
